Boo to YOU!! A halloween adventure!**1/7 X 2!!! DHS & MK!!**

It looks like you had a wonderful day. I love that you and your dd got to have some girl bonding time. Makes for a wonderful day.

Super update!
I love it that you spent some precious time with your darling daughter! What special memories you are making!
Love your pictures especially of the kids and of course Spaceship Earth!
Can't wait to see how the move went!

What a wonderful MEGA update!

It seems like you did SO much in one day! How wonderful to have that alone "girl" time.

Bummer about the sweaty, drunk, crowded WS. CP commented on it too. I don't recall that in '04 when we were there but it's entirely possible we were never there on a weekend night.

Congrats on your new niece!

What a wonderful update! :goodvibes

I love your mother and daughter shopping time at DTD! :thumbsup2 Poor girl who had to find out about her dog! I think it really depends on your children on when to tell them would be best. I think I would have felt like people lied to me if it was kept a secret from me. So the girl might have had the chance to feel like she was part of the family decision to put the dog to sleep! :confused3

Thanks for the Living with the Land pictures! Unfortunately it will be closed when we are there, I am a bit sad about this. While it isn't my favourite ride in Epcot, it is pretty cool and very special. It is somehow the ultimate Epcot ride to me.

Melissa -

I apologize. I think this post may end up in between your mega update. I just wanted to comment how much I am enjoying your update and I love all the pictures of your duaghter. She looks so cute. It is so nice that you are getting to spend some time with each other. And $7 for the cab certainly does sound like a deal!

Glad you had a nice morning and got to enjoy a relaxed cup of coffee with all the kiddos.

Such a sad story about the little girl and her dog. That is a real bummer! The only thing worse than putting a pet to sleep is having it done while you are away. :sad1:

Don't apologize! It's quite alright!!!!

We had such a great shopping and epcot trip!!! DD loves it when we can have "Mommy and Dorothy time" especially because it usually involves shopping and a meal! It was good for Daddy to get a time with his boys too

The morning was very nice and relaxing! I wish every morning could be like that!!!

I felt so bad for that girl!! What a terrible thing to have to go through, especially on vacation in such a magical place!

Wow!! What a mega update! It sounded like a wonderful day--shopping and spending time with your daughter:) Your pictures are beautiful--especially SE! What a sad story about the little girl and her dog. It made me misty :( You are getting so close to your next trip! You must be super excited and you should definitley get that doll in China! My last trip I saw my very own lunchbox that I used to have so I found one on eBay! :)
Tracy

We had a great day!!! I felt so bad for that little girl! Hopefully I'll remember to go back and get the doll!!! I've given a whole day for WS so I think we'll get to see all the good stuff in all the pavilions!!

It looks like you had a wonderful day. I love that you and your dd got to have some girl bonding time. Makes for a wonderful day.

We had wonderful girl bonding!!! It really did make for a great day!!!! DD is like my little clone so it was absolutely wonderful!

Super update!

DD and I have been pretty lucky on our trip to get a little alone time each trip! Last January she and I did EMH and a little time after that at MK becausethe boys wanted to sleep in and we wanted to go! It was a lovely morning!!! We had a morning alone on her birthday in March 08 including breakfast at 1900 Park Fare and BBB! Yes, she's a little spoiled but she's a terrific kid so she deserves it!!!

I love that SE pic!!!!!!

The move was interesting, stay tuned!

What a wonderful MEGA update!

Congrats on your new niece!

Thanks!!! We had great day and DD and I had such a nice time together!

The sweaty, drunk crowd was just not that fun!! The thing that struck me was the amount of people who were staggeringly drunk!! UGH!!! I think I need a F&W re-do and go during the week!! I'll never step foot in WS on a weekend during F&W again!

What a wonderful update! :goodvibes

I felt so bad for that girl! I agree with you about it depending on the child! I know DD would have been crushed if that happened to our dog while we were away.

I think, but I could be wrong, that LWTL had just reopened from being closed for a few weeks before we got there! It really is a very Epcot ride!!!

OK - the one thing that strikes me most is Taylor Hicks doing the Eat to the Beat concert series! I know I shouldn't laugh, but Taylor was the contestant that I felt was the least worthy of winning AI. (Him and Rubin S because he just sweats WAY too much!) I just could never understand it!
:confused3 In fact, I almost stopped watching AI after that season because I couldn't believe he won! And We KNOW what Simon would say about him now! The amazing thing was that Simon never said it during that season. :confused3

Your evening in the world showcase sounds like fun, but the large, drunk crowds would have been annoying to me as well. Especially when you are trying to negotiate all that with your kids. :sad2: And to top that off, you couldn't even get new the GGS machine! Now that is just wrong! I do love some of the distance shots you got of Spaceship earth and the world showcase. Very pretty!

That is so sweet that your DD bought her friend an Italian Mickey doll. How very thoughtful!

I really enjoyed your mega update. Overall, a great day!

I kinda felt the same way about Taylor Hicks! I must admit to a little chuckle about it too!

We did have fun in WS that evening but I think I need a F&W redo!!! A GGS is definitely on my list for our upcoming trip!!! That was just no far!!

DD was too cute about Italian Mickey!!! She was so excited to get it for her friend!!!

More updates coming soon!

Happy New Year to all my wonderful dis friends!!!!

Being in kinda a nostalgic mood I got to thinking about Dis. It amazes me to think that a place like this exists. I guess with the wonders of the internet anything is possible. People with a common interest brought together in a bug community. We may never actually meet but we develop such a genuine friendship. When one of us is at WDW we think of that person and hope they’re having a magical time, when one of us is going through a rough time or not feeling we pray for each other and think of each other, we hope to “see” each other around, we laugh and even cry together. Amazing! All brought together by a common interest, a love for Disney! WOW!

Anyway, Our trip is fast approaching and I’m really getting excited!!! My to do list is getting shorter, thank god, and I really don’t have all that much more to do!

Cleaning, packing, and a few errands are the big things! But I don’t want to pack until I know the weather! I’ve been obsessively looking at the 15 forecast on Accuweather and its looking cool for the beginning of our trip and then warming to around 70 toward the end! I would have been happier with mid 70 the whole trip, but I’ll deal ;)

I did sort the clothes and pull out a lot of potential things. I need to get the kiddos a few long sleeve tees to wear under short sleeved tees. But I’ll do that Monday when the kiddos are back in school and I run the other errands, including UPSing the box O’ stuff!

My sister and her family are also really getting excited too! I talked to my sister the other day and she said “I’m starting to get anxious, not in a bad way, the past few days and I’m even having trouble sleeping because of it!” LOL!! I told DH that she has a case of the I’m too excited to sleeps ;) I won’t tell her that though!

I think I have everything all set now with the itinerary and figured I’d post it! I’m not sure how it will all play out and I may end up scrapping the whole itinerary, aside from the ADR’s. I’m not sure if all 10 of us will stay together the whole time. I know my niece, Jessica, would like to stay with me, my sister is a kind of go with the flow, I don’t care what we do kinda girl, my niece, Julianna, stays with her mother no matter what. So I think we’ll end up together most times and my BIL and nephew, Justin, may take little side trip for the more adventurous rides!

Happy New Year! I love your post about the DIS. I feel the same way.

So....we aren't in any of the same places at the same time! :headache:

But, I'm thinking we should exchange cells if you want and we can touch base on the 14th and 15th to see if we can manage a short meet. What do you think?

Your plans look great!!!

Especially the rest day with massages! *DROOL*

Sorry for jumping in so late, but when I saw you were gonna be there the same week as us, had to hop on over ! :goodvibes

Happy New Year!

Your plans took great and it's cool that you are going into it knowing that it could all get scrapped and being ok with it, I think it helps if you have that mind set up front and aren't "too" attached!

Fun fun fun! and SOOOO soon!

Hey Melissa,

Your post about the boards...just the way I feel......sometimes the world can be large and impersonal and it is nice to know that you have people out there wishing you well and hoping for the best for you...:goodvibes

and speaking of which...I can't believe your trip is in a week...:yay:

how did that happen so soon? I remember when you just started talking about it...wow it doesn't feel like that long...

Big Congrats on a new niece...:goodvibes

Love girl time at Disney...sounds like the two of you really had fun...Em is huge TrenD fan...and I do love that tshirt...:goodvibes (I think as a b-day surprise I'm going to take her there and let her do a mini shopping spree...:rolleyes1)

I love you itinerary and yeah for pedis and massages for you and your sister...(I zoned right in on that...:lmao:)

btw i'm with you on the whole dog thing...I don't see how it would have made a difference waiting till they got home to tell the child about the dog...at least they would have had the trip first...:confused3

Happy New Year!

I think your itinerary looks great - I envy you the rest day!! But then I know that I would not be able to rest at WDW!! I do afternoon breaks and those are difficult enough some times! I can't stand being there and not be at the parks... :rolleyes1

I think you have the right attitude, especially with a large group: have a plan but be prepared to be flexible! The most important thing is that you have fun!

I will keep my fingers crossed for your that the weather warms up a bit! I would rather have those 70s for late January as well, please! :thumbsup2

Be back later with responses and a short update! I just wanted to swing by because in the midst of stressing about everything I still need to do between now and Saturday I got a momentary bit of disney magic

1 week from now we'll be in AK!!!!!

Happy New Year!

I'm sooooo looking forward to the spa! I had a massage at GF in March and it was heavenly!

Your welcome to join in anytime!! The more the merrier!!!

:hyper::jumping1::hyper::jumping1:

Woo hoo for single digits!! Your plans look great!

Tracy

Thanks! We're getting so excited!!!!

Fun fun fun! and SOOOO soon!

Thanks! I figure I can't really be married to plan with 10 people on the trip! There are so many different personalities etc. Hopefully it will all go off without a hitch!

We're so excited the trip is so soon!!! I'm starting to freak a little!!! :lmao:

It really did kinda sneak up on me! With the holidays and such it really came out of nowhere!

I'm really looking forward to some spa time! The spa at GF is like a little oasis!!

I just know my DD would have been crushed if something happened to our dog on the a trip and I told her. But, like I said, everyones different. I just felt so bad for the girl!

Happy New Year!

I'm looking forward to the rest day but I thing it will turn out to be 1/2 a day of rest! Even still, it will be nice!

I know I have to flexible with 10 people. I can't be all commando and have the clipboard ready! I just want everyone to have fun and get the most out of the experience!

Melissa -

I don't know how I missed your 1/1 update, but your itinerary looks smashing. I have no idea why I just picked that adjective, but I'm sticking with it!

I am so excited for you and your family. In just a few short days you will be back at your happy place and, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this your first trip to Kidani? You are going to absolutely love it!

I like what you and Patricia said about the boards and I've been wondering myself why I feel like I really know the Disers that I communicate with on a regular basis. And I've finally put my finger on it......I think the reason that we form such a bond is because we communicate by written word. Where else do people communicate by such an elaborate, and sometimes labor intensive, way? I think when you write something you share yourself on a deeper level. Written words are permanent and they bear a little piece of the author's soul and a big piece of the author's personality.

They are a gift that we give and recieve. They are a warm welcome that we look forward to enjoying. They are a source of relaxation and entertainment.

Anyway - not quite sure why I got on a tangent there, but have a super, awesome trip! :woohoo:
