Boo to YOU!! A halloween adventure!**1/7 X 2!!! DHS & MK!!**

Hey Melissa,

I thoroughly enjoyed your mega update...

Chef Mickey's looked like fun...(Donald is my favorite so I'm glad he gave you extra attention...:thumbsup2...you should make him his own page now...:lmao:)

I'm also an enormous HM fan...again not able to write a thesis on it like some people...:rolleyes1...but still love it a lot...(Em does too...I'm thinking of doing the HM cake for her birthday at Cali Grill...you'd love it-it's on the cake thread...)

It really looks like you got a nice Cindy and P Charming at 1900...:goodvibes...Lady Tremaine scares me a little too...:scared:
The stepsisters looked like they were a hoot!...

Ooo...Halloween update...:cool1:...that means costumes...:thumbsup2

Hi there! I have seen you on many other TR's that I read so I thought you could keep me company at work on this chilly afternoon. :upsidedow

Loving your TR and your family is adorable! :thumbsup2

I was at SSR in January....beautiful resort but huge!! I still have no idea where I was!! I was at AKV in the beginning of October and yes it was HOT! I would take it now though!! :sad2:

I never posted to tell you how much I enjoyed the mega update! It was wonderful. It sounded like such a great day. And if you are ever stuck at the TTC again wanting to go to the GF: you can actually walk there! Unbelieveable, isn't it?? :goodvibes There is a path to the Poly from the TTC and you can just continue on along the beach and walk to the GF. I think it would still take you about 20 minutes walk leisurely, but it is an option! :thumbsup2

Howe wonderful that both your kids are doing great at school, I can understand that you are a proud mother when teachers say so nice things about your kids! :goodvibes

What a fantastic day, I bought DH a gorillapod almost 2 years ago and he's yet to use it, hopefully he'll take it to WDW next month :thumbsup2

He definitely should! I LOVE mine! It was definitely worth the cost!!

Hey Melissa,

I thoroughly enjoyed your mega update...

Thanks!!!

Chef Mickey's looked like fun...(Donald is my favorite so I'm glad he gave you extra attention...:thumbsup2...you should make him his own page now...:lmao:)

Ryan loves Donald now! LOL!! It was too cute! I'm not sure if I'll make book for next month, not sure I'll have time, but if I do I'm making him special pages!!

I'm also an enormous HM fan...again not able to write a thesis on it like some people...:rolleyes1...but still love it a lot...(Em does too...I'm thinking of doing the HM cake for her birthday at Cali Grill...you'd love it-it's on the cake thread...)

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE HM. I have get over to the dining board and look at the cake thread! I want to order a cake for my sister for Cali Grill but I'm not sure if I'll do a basic cake or something grand!

It really looks like you got a nice Cindy and P Charming at 1900...:goodvibes...Lady Tremaine scares me a little too...:scared:
The stepsisters looked like they were a hoot!...

LOL! We had a great time at 1900 Park Fare! I can't wait to go back!!
Ooo...Halloween update...:cool1:...that means costumes...:thumbsup2

Thanks for joining in!! :cool1:

I think my family is pretty darn cute too, but I'm bias!! :rotfl2:

I loved SSR! It was so pretty and peaceful!! I can't wait for our trip next month! We're staying at AKV and I'm soo excited to be going home for the first time!

I never posted to tell you how much I enjoyed the mega update! It was wonderful. It sounded like such a great day. I thought briefly about walking but I figured there was no way we'd make it!

I'm soooooo proud of my kiddos!!! They're wonderful kids!!!

I'm sooooooo sorry that I haven't been around for so long! I haven't been on Dis very much at all over the last week or so! I've done a few replies in some of my subscriptions but there's been so much going on I just haven't had more then a few minutes to hang around dis :(

I PROMISE to have an update up by this time tomorrow barring disaster!!

Thanks for hanging around!! I hope my mega update held you over!!!

Again, thanks for hanging out and waiting while I was away from Dis!! I really did miss it! But we had a nice Thanksgiving and a nice visit this past weekend with my parents! I would have been back sooner but Ryan, DS2, took a nap on Monday after my parents left and woke up with a fever. It was 104.2 by 5 pm!! Luckily our pediatrician is open late and they gave me a 6:10 appointment when I called. The dr really wasn’t sure what was wrong and didn’t think it was swine flu! Ryan is on the mend now. He still has a little fever and is a little cranky but at least the fever 104!

So on with the promised update!!

Ahhh, Halloween at WDW!! Those of you followed along on my PTR know that I love Halloween at WDW and that was what this trip was all about!

Originally this was going to be a down day and we were going to skip AK this trip but the kiddos really want to go to AK.

So plans were adjusted and an ADR was added and we were good to go!

I called for a wakeup call the night before, for 7ish I think. But as usual I woke up way before 7. I cancelled the wakeup call, put on a pot of coffee and got in the shower.

I woke everyone when I got out of the shower and then finished getting ready. The big kiddos got themselves dressed and DH got DS2 ready.

So all nice and pretty and with me semi-adequately caffeined up we were on our way out our door around 8:15 as planned. I wasn’t sure how long it was going to take waiting for a bus and getting there so I wanted to make sure we had plenty of time!

We got to AK around 8:30. Our adr at Tusker House was for 9:10. I mentioned to DH that perhaps they’d take us early. Yeah right!

We checked in at ADR area and were told to wait in line with the other people and we would be let in when it got closer to our ADR!

So we waited. The line of people behind us began to get very long!! Yikes! DH and I wondered out loud how many had ADRs at Tusker House for the morning and how big the restaurant was!

They started letting people in around 8:50 and it took a few minute for all the people in front of us to get through the turnstiles.

Then out of nowhere this crazy lady came barreling up holding a little girl by the hand screaming at a man I would assume was her husband “We’ve been waiting in this line for too long! There’s no way I’m waiting for all these f*#@ing people!” The poor little girl looked like she was going to cry and the husband looked completely defeated! She pushed her way through some people that the CM’s had directed to the turnstiles to the left of the Tusker House checkin area and went in!

It was CRAZY! It never ceases to amaze me! I mean, I know people are rude, but really! Come on!! Not to mention this lady made a complete spectacle of herself and her family in front of like 800 people!! All the people waiting in line for Tusker House and all the people milling around waiting for park to open watched her little show!!

Anyway, about 30 seconds later it was our turn to go through the turnstile!

Remember back a few updates ago when I mentioned that when we got our AP’s the CM told us he was going to DS Johnny’s middle initial on his AP because he has the same name as DH and putting the middle initial on would help avoid confusion.

UMMMM, talk about confusion! DH couldn’t get into AK! One of the gate CM’s came over to assist. She told us in a very nasty manor that his ticket was a child’s ticket. Umm, what? Turns out that the CM at will call put the middle initial on DH’s AP, not DS’s. Great! But it had never been an issue in the 2 days. Go figure!

After re-swiping what was actually DH’s AP and actually DS’s ticket and pressing some buttons on the turnstile thingy we were in the park! Geeze!!

Off we went! We still had about 15 minutes before our ADR and I knew we had plenty of time to walk back so we took the opportunity to have our first ever Tree of Life photopass picture taken!

Then we were off again to Tusker House!

Of course, I took a few pictures along the way!

Then we were at Tusker House and ready to met Donald!! I’m not sharing that picture because it was just hideous!

I have to say that I wasn’t really sure of the way they had it set up where you met Donald. We were told no Donald autographs right now, which was ok with us because already had Donald autograph this trip, and if you wanted Donald autograph you could find him at Camp Minnie Mickey later. They quick took the picture and sent us in with a host. It all felt rather rushed and seemed very impersonal! I know that they were trying to get people in and not create a huge backlog, and they were doing a good job. But it really seemed a little un-disney.

We were soon in Tusker House lead through by the host who explained the buffet and took us to our table.

Our very, very nice waiter, Lee, soon arrived and took our drink order poured us some of the special Tusker House juice I hear so many Diser rave about and told us to head to the buffet! Before I was even able to get up from the table a catastrophe happened!! Actually it wasn’t a catastrophe, but you would have thought it was!

DS6 spilled his juice. On the table and on himself! He was soooo upset! I went and sat next to him and cleaned him up while the waiter came back with a bunch of extra napkins and something to clean the table up with! I tried to console DS but he was sooo upset! I guess he was a bit embarrassed and a bit unhappy at being wet from the juice. I offered to take him back to the room but he didn’t want to miss breakfast. I offered to take him back after breakfast but he didn’t want that either. Our waiter was phenomenal at a rather stressful time! He brought extra napkins very, very quickly and cleaned up the mess on the table and chair in the blink of an eye! He told that if we needed anything to help to let him know! He even tried to help me comfort DS! He assured him that it happens all the time and a lot of times it’s the Mom’s and Dad’s that spill, DS though that was funny! He told DS he had the perfect solution to his clothes being a little wet and stained! Kali River Rapids!! He told DS it was was like the washer and dryer!! DD loved that idea!! But DS was a little unsure!

continued next post...

While I sat and calmed DS down a little more DH went to the buffet to get food for himself and Ryan and I’m pretty sure DD went with him!

As soon as they arrived back we had our first visitor!!

Mickey!!!

Mickey tried very hard to get Ryan’s attention but Ryan was busy trying to use a very large fork!

We had a nice little visit with Mickey and then he moved onto another table! But, Daisy was right behind him! We’ve never met Daisy and DD was very excited to met her! She was lovely and Ryan may have been a little smitten!

Finally there was a little break and Johnny and I were able to go get food! He was still a little embarrassed about the spill and wasn’t sure he wanted to get up because you could see the spill. I assured him it was ok and no one would care! The very nice ladies at the next table commented to him that the orange color from the juice made his white Halloween tee look even cooler!! He really like that comment!!

After we had plates full of food we returned and started to eat! Soon Goofy visited!! He gave the kiddos lots of love, attention and a few tickles!!

Soon we were finished! We settled our bill and I made sure to give our waiter an extra big tip! He really deserved it! I really felt that he went above and beyond when it came to the spill and was a great waiter to begin with!!

We really enjoyed Tusker House! Aside from the rushed feeling of the Donald picture and spill it was great! We enjoyed the variety on the buffet and I LOVED the coffee!!! We’re definitely looking forward to our breakfast at Tusker House next month!!

We decided to head toward Kali because it’s a favorite of DD and DH. We were hoping DS would decide to try it for the first time!

We stopped along the way to browse a little…

play the drums…

met some new friends…

(Ryan wanted nothing to do with those two! LOL!)

enjoy the beautiful themeing...

and see some amazing creatures...

We arrived at Kali to find that the standby line was posted as a 5 minute wait! Yippeeee!!! I would be sitting this one out with Ryan and Johnny was really against the idea of going (he hates to get wet other than while swimming) so he hung out with me while DH and DD went for a ride!

We waited on the bridge to take a picture of them and soon enough the approached!

Notice DD’s clothes in the picture ;)

A few minutes DD came running toward me

“That was the most funest ride ever!” She was soaked!!! Dripping!! OMG!!

We stopped at the little gift kiosk by Kali that sells entire changes of clothes and bought a towel for DD and DH to share and DS7 a giant stuffed bat that he really wanted and paid for with his own money!

Then we made our way toward “The Dinosaur Playground” as DS7 calls it!

A few more pics along the way...

Ryan was fast asleep in the stroller

so DH took the kiddos into the playground while I took sleepy baby to see about FP for Dinosaur and drinks for us!

When we arrived at Dinosaur we found a posted wait for 10 minutes and the FP machines bagged! Ok!

We walked back toward the Boneyard, got some water and found a little bit of shade to wait in!

The kiddos played for a good 30 or 40 minutes and finally came out nicely hot and sweaty! We headed toward Dinosaur and left DH and still sleeping Ryan in a very nice, shady area of to the side!

We basically walked onto Dinosaur, only waiting long enough for us to look at some of the stuff in the queue and see the preshow!

Then it was time!!

I’d be lying if I said this ride was hit with us! It scared to heck out of DD and DS was not too happy about all the being thrown around! I’m not even sure I understand the point of the ride! Too noisy, too rough and overall just crazy!! I felt like you couldn't get into the story of the ride because it was being blasted out of your head by the noise and shaken out by being thrown around!! But, it was a first for us and we can say we’ve ridden it. We can also say we’ll probably never ride it again ;)

My redneck version of the ride picture…

After being thoroughly deafened and shaken met back up with DH and Ryan, who was awake now, and decided to head back to SSR for lunch, rest and swimming!

We made our way back to SSR on a virtually empty bus and along the way we saw something we’ve never seen and probably never will again!

An alligator in the wild! He (or she) was next to one of those big drainage ponds on the side of the road. It was probably 5 feet long and had its mouth open!! WOW!!!!

Up next lunch, swimming and HALLOWEEN!!!

What a wonderful update! Look at that Tusker House table with all of that Jungle Juice! :worship:
Oh and back to the beginning....Oh my on the woman at the turnstiles!! Geez!! Poor husband and daughter :sad2:
Did you mention if you are staying at Kidani or at Jambo? I love the both and they really do feel like home :lovestruc

Tracy

Oh No! :lmao: I see that Dinosaur is definately not a huge hit with your kiddos! My DS 16 Brian never liked Dinosaur and still hates it. He just doesn't like the loud sounds. He always looked like that in his ride photos.

What a nice morning you had at AK. I'm glad you had time for a short visit and a lovely breakfast. Lucky you for getting that ADR at TH.

As for the lady in line - I am going to give her the benefit of the doubt and say that she had no idea what the park crowds looked like in the morning. Perhaps I'm being too generous, but I have to say that if I wasn't prepared for what to expect, I would be a tad unhappy, too. Of course, she should have kept the F bomb to herself. And a little patience would have proved that Disney queue their lines better than anyone.

I love the family picture in front of the tree of life. And I love the T- shirts - very cute!

Can't wait to hear about the Halloween party!

Love your update! So much fun ti read about Tusker House since we're eating lunch there next Thursday (yikes!!!!). Too bad about Dinosaur, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have liked it either.

Great pictures of Animal Kingdom!

Poor DS with his spilled juice. I always worry I'm going to do that at Disney. I'd probably throw a fit if I spilled on myself.

You took some great pictures of Animal Kingdom.

I'm not a huge fan of Dinosaur either. It's just not my cup of tea!

I love all the charater pics from Tusker House. I love them in their excursion gear. Too cute!

Dinosaur is awfully rocky. My youngest niece last year had her head hidden on my shoulder the entire ride. That is until she had to raise it to have her picture taken on the ride. :rotfl: She's such a slave to the cameras, always having to smile even when she's scared. :lmao:

I have SO much to comment on! I was a couple updates behind - so first...

Yay for Johnny getting such a HUGE score on Buzz!!! :woohoo: And :dance3: no hardly NO LINES. Love that!

That darn Zurg takes your kids too, eh? ;) GREAT picture.

Love how your evening ended too - popcorn, tv relaxing in the tub and DH taking care of the bed and the jammies....can't beat it!

I am so sorry to hear about you getting the sinus infection and double ear infection. :sad2: I hope you are now well over it! I did however highly enjoy your MEGA update. :goodvibes

Wonderful pics from Chef Mickey's, sounds like it was a perfect breakfast! I really want to try breakfast there sometime-we weren't so fond of food from dinner there, but I've read breakfast is yummy. Plus the characters are FUN!

This picture is near the stroller parking in Fantasyland? I don't know if I have ever seen the lake... it's beautiful! Very nice shot-I wouldn't have ever guessed it was at MK!

The pic of your DD with Prince Charming so much captures a perfect Disney moment! So sweet. And yes, I do think she's blushing!!! :goodvibes

And Johnny's response to the step sister about his heart belonging to one sweet girl....wow! What a response!!! Smart kid! :thumbsup2

He is just thrilled about that hat too - smiling from ear to ear!

BEAUTIFUL Wishes pictures!!! We really enjoyed the Dessert Party as well, as you know, I just haven't gotten that far in my TR. :rolleyes1 ;)

The teachers all love them!! We hear things like "if every student was like her my job would be a piece of cake!" and "he's an absolutely angel with a heart of gold!":cloud9: Like I said on FB, I get that emotional, proud mommy feeling!!

:yay: That is great to hear! Sure makes those parent/teacher conferences easier, doesn't it? :goodvibes

:scared1: :sad2: unreal. Some people never cease to amaze me....and sometimes crowds just bring out the worst in people, don't they??

The very nice ladies at the next table commented to him that the orange color from the juice made his white Halloween tee look even cooler!! He really like that comment!!

So sweet!!!! I love those kind of people at Disney! :goodvibes Aside from the juice and being rushed in, Tusker House sounds awesome! I really wanted to try it for this coming trip, but it didn't happen....gotta fit it in next time, I don't think I have read a poor breakfast review of it ever!

Your DD was SOAKED!!! :rotfl: I've never seen someone so wet from that ride!!!!!!!! A kid that age though, that is like a dream come to true to her I'm sure....

Your poor kiddos on Dinosaur!!! :guilty: I actually like the ride, I think it's kinda fun being thrown around and screaming my head off as we chase the Dino to bring him back to present time...BUT, I can see why most kids don't like it! It IS scary. I know whats coming and I still scream!

Tracy

I actually didn't try the juice!! I know DH wasn't a huge fan of it but DD liked it!

That women at the entrance of AK was completely crazy!!!! Like I said, it never ceases to amaze me :sad2:

We're staying at Kidani next month!!!!! 2 bedroom savannah view!!!!! Can't wait!!!

Oh No! :lmao: I see that Dinosaur is definately not a huge hit with your kiddos! My DS 16 Brian never liked Dinosaur and still hates it. He just doesn't like the loud sounds. He always looked like that in his ride photos.

We definitely didn't like Dinosaur! Johnny hates loud noises too!!

What a nice morning you had at AK. I'm glad you had time for a short visit and a lovely breakfast. Lucky you for getting that ADR at TH.

We had a nice, but brief, morning at AK! I can't wait to get a full day in there next month!

I figured she was worried they were going to be late for their ADR. She really looked crazed! the F bomb just made it that much worse!! Hello! Family place!! I think she may have forgotten the emergency xanax :rolleyes1

I love the family picture in front of the tree of life. And I love the T- shirts - very cute!

Thanks!! I really like those tees!!

Can't wait to hear about the Halloween party! coming soon!

Love your update! So much fun ti read about Tusker House since we're eating lunch there next Thursday (yikes!!!!). Too bad about Dinosaur, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have liked it either.

I'm so excited for you guys!! I hope you have a fabulous time!! You really deserve a break and some happiness!! I hope Lydia is feeling well and so are you!!!!

Thanks! I love all the details at AK! So much to see!!

I felt so bad for DS :( He was soooo upset! Not lkike he was screaming, just kinda quietly crying but it was so sad!!!

Dinosaur wasn't our cup of tea either :scared1:

I love all the charater pics from Tusker House. I love them in their excursion gear. Too cute!

Dinosaur is awfully rocky. My youngest niece last year had her head hidden on my shoulder the entire ride. That is until she had to raise it to have her picture taken on the ride. :rotfl: She's such a slave to the cameras, always having to smile even when she's scared. :lmao:

I thought the characters at TH were great!! So cute and we loved seeing Daisy!!!!!

Dinosaur was just too much for us!! UGH!!!

x
I have SO much to comment on! I was a couple updates behind - so first...

Yay for Johnny getting such a HUGE score on Buzz!!! :woohoo: And :dance3: no hardly NO LINES. Love that!

That score was insane!! He still comments on it a month later "Mommy! Remember when I got 600,000 points on Buzz Lightyear?!" LOL!!! The crowd levels were fantastic!!!!

That darn Zurg takes your kids too, eh? ;) GREAT picture.

LOL!! I think kids just gravitate toward Zurg when they're on the way out!

Love how your evening ended too - popcorn, tv relaxing in the tub and DH taking care of the bed and the jammies....can't beat it!

AHHHH!!! Your so right!! I can't wait to do it again next month! After all, the AKV master bath would have sold me on DVC if I wasn't already completely sure about the purchase ;)

I am so sorry to hear about you getting the sinus infection and double ear infection. :sad2: I hope you are now well over it! I did however highly enjoy your MEGA update. :goodvibes

Aww thanks!! I swear I still have a touch of it and DH swears it was more then the sinus and ears. He thinks I had swine flu too. Not sure! I'm glad you like the mega update! There maybe another one soon! I need to get this done before next month!!

Wonderful pics from Chef Mickey's, sounds like it was a perfect breakfast! I really want to try breakfast there sometime-we weren't so fond of food from dinner there, but I've read breakfast is yummy. Plus the characters are FUN!

We had such a great time at Chef Mickey's! I agree about the dinner food! A lot of the dinner buffets are too much the same and the food is just not that good! But they make up for it with the experience!!

This picture is near the stroller parking in Fantasyland? I don't know if I have ever seen the lake... it's beautiful! Very nice shot-I wouldn't have ever guessed it was at MK!

Yup!! I think to the left if your looking at the stroller parking! It's kinda of this peaceful , beautiful little spot in the midst of all the excitement of WDW!

The pic of your DD with Prince Charming so much captures a perfect Disney moment! So sweet. And yes, I do think she's blushing!!! :goodvibes

It was too sweet!! I loved that he went down on one knee and spoke to her eye to eye!!

And Johnny's response to the step sister about his heart belonging to one sweet girl....wow! What a response!!! Smart kid! :thumbsup2

He's too sweet and so much in love with this little girl!! He just knows he loves her and will marry her someday

He is just thrilled about that hat too - smiling from ear to ear!

He wanted that darn hat sooooo bad!! He was so excited when he saw me with it!

BEAUTIFUL Wishes pictures!!! We really enjoyed the Dessert Party as well, as you know, I just haven't gotten that far in my TR. :rolleyes1 ;)

We really enjoyed it!! I can't wait to hear your take on it!

:yay: That is great to hear! Sure makes those parent/teacher conferences easier, doesn't it? :goodvibes

it really does!! I know I'm going to hear good things!

:scared1: :sad2: unreal. Some people never cease to amaze me....and sometimes crowds just bring out the worst in people, don't they??

That lady was off her rocker!

It was so sweet and it really made him feel better! I think it kinda made him feel a little less embarassed!

Your DD was SOAKED!!! :rotfl: I've never seen someone so wet from that ride!!!!!!!! A kid that age though, that is like a dream come to true to her I'm sure....

Holy Moly! She looked like she had jumped in the pool with her cloths on!! :rotfl2: I'm kinda suprised she didn't ask me for new clothes but it was so warm I guess it felt good!! DH request ponchos for next time :lmao: but he really get that wet!

Your poor kiddos on Dinosaur!!! :guilty: I actually like the ride, I think it's kinda fun being thrown around and screaming my head off as we chase the Dino to bring him back to present time...BUT, I can see why most kids don't like it! It IS scary. I know whats coming and I still scream! the noise and the bouncing and rocking just made it a really bad ride for them! I swear I warned them but they both really wanted to try it!

Thanks for all the AK pictures. I love all the detail in that park. I love seeing all the animals, too.

We did Tusker House this summer. The ham is what sticks out in my mind. It was so good!

So glad you had a great server who could play off the spill for the upset little boy. :)

:scared1: :sad2:

That was so cool of your waiter to try and comfort DS after the spill. :thumbsup2

Love this picture!

I would be sitting this one out with Ryan and Johnny was really against the idea of going (he hates to get wet other than while swimming) so he hung out with me while DH and DD went for a ride!

I'm with Johnny...yuck!

Aw, those poor kids! :rotfl2:

Wow...what a morning..."It was the best of times, it was the worst of times..."

It sounds like quite the morning...you must have been freaking out inside when they told you DH didn't have the right ticket...:scared1: I'm glad that all resolved itself...as for that crazy lady...:confused3...how sad for her husband and daughter...Can you imagine living with that 24/7?

I'm glad you liked Tusker...(except for the spilled juice...)...I agree the beginning with Donald is a bit impersonal but the rest of the meal is one of my favorite character meals...:thumbsup2

The kids looked like they loved the characters...(me too)...:thumbsup2

I love Kali but it can be a drencher...:upsidedow

Dino...DS won't ride it...:confused3 (he also had a negative experience on the Indy ride at DL when he was 5-it's the same technology...it is very, very loud...DD just loved it this year for the first time-(she was 14...:lmao:)

Enjoying your tr...popcorn::

What a great update!!!!!!!!!

Poor Johnny and the OJ....kids are so funny, sometimes they roll with it and just don't care, other times its the worst thing in the world and you simply cannot reason with them. I'm glad he rebounded!

GREAT TOL picture! Absolutely fabulous and I love the detail shots, I hope to really work on that on our next trip. Eric feels the same way you guys did about Dinosaur, the big boys thought it was "dumb" but for whatever reason it just cracks K and I up so we went on it twice.

Go figure.

Your breakfast looks fantastic and OMG your Dinosaur photo :rotfl: I still haven't been on that as my kids refuse to go on!
