Boo Bear's 1st TR *UPDATED w/ TONS of Details & PHOTOS*

This sounds like an awesome vacation, Bridgette! Concierge at the DLH! Good food. A great tour that gives you all kinds of cool information. Shopping at Basin (I love Basin!) and then soaking in the tub with your dessert! And no one to bother you or prevent you from relaxing. I bet you had a GREAT night's sleep after that full day and the soak in the tub!

Sherry E, yes, I believe I had a hard time waking up the next day as a matter of fact! I rolled out of bed anyway because I had incentive to get up waiting for me on the counters in the concierge lounge. Yummy pastries, OJ and coffee! I think that was the day I got sent back to my room because I forgot to put on shoes. My feet just hurt so bad!

Oh and btw, I'm usually not a florally type of person, but the Therapy scent from Basin makes me melt like butter. I wish I would've gotten the body butter lotion so I don't have to take a bath to experience it. I also got the salt scrub and used it on my calves. The only way I can describe how it felt after walking around all day with swollen legs is that I felt like the way a dog's face looks when you scratch that one spot on their scruff and their hind leg starts kicking. It sounds really weird, but sometimes I feel that way when I go through the car wash if my car is really dirty. You all better get used to my weird analogies, I have a bunch of them.

Thanks to Melody and everyone else! I'm having fun taking my time to do this. I took all of my photos at 9 megapixels so I have to re size everything which is a pain. Coming soon will be posts about:

  • My first character breakfast/first character meet & greet!
  • The 4th of July section including crowd reports & firework thoughts and photos.
  • Thoughts about DTD, shopping, and the UVA Bar
  • 4th of July crowd reports & FANTASTIC fireworks photos from the DLH concierge lounge
  • July 5th section beginning with the "Walk in Walt's Footsteps Tour"
  • Thoughts about DL attractions
  • Thoughts on some of the DCA attractions
  • The Electrical Parade w/ TONS of photos
  • July 6th Closing
  • Thoughts on the Monorail system, Matterhorn Bobsleds, It's A Small World, Splash Mountain (w/ silly photo)
  • Closing thoughts about DL, w/ some comparison to WDW Resort.

There will probably be more that I forgot, but that's the agenda so far!

Bridgette, I'm enjoying your TR. Where did you get the bath salts/milk you are describing? Sounds wonderful. So you are going to school for a 2nd degree in photography -- is that correct? Just curious, what is your first degree in?
I'm surprised that the cms at the gate didn't simply give you an admission media that looks and acts like a park pass when you went through the gates. That's what they did for us in January. We got what looked like regular park hopper tix and they told us we could use them to get FPs just like any other ticket. Then when we were ready, we went to the ticket place to swap and get our real AP. I'm loving your report so far and looking forward to some seriously awesome photos!:goodvibes

Hi Bridgette.....took me a bit to wander back over the TR section & wah-la.....there was yours!!!

Loving it so far.....big fan of your pics!!!

We did the Welcome to Disneyland Tour back in 2005. We had Mike's mother & our son (3) at the time....lets just say that they both had trouble keeping up with the tour guide. I think we saw every inch of both parks in the 2 1/2 hr time limit.....we ALL had blisters by the end of it!! I loved the tour & the info....I think these tours are great for newbies as well as veterans.

Your room pretty much looked like the room we had....we just didn't have the conceirge service. I loved the DLH......would stay there everytime if I could afford to.

Can't wait to see more. Glad your move & trip went well!!

I got my bath goodies at Basin in DTD.

Happy Birthday, Bridgette!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Courtney! I'm sad you couldn't come, but hopefully we'll hang out soon :flower3:

As for the TR... I have so much more I've just been really busy. I went back to DL last weekend and I have a lot to do with the new place and school. I promise I haven't forgotten!

It looks like you ladies had a wonderful time at RFC!!

I was thinking, I'm getting my new AP in December. If you happen to make any more solo DL trips after that and need a buddy, I would love to come if you don't mind the company. I'm on the way for you. Just let me know! :wizard:

Hi! Just read your trip report. Wow, you have way more stamina than me! Sounds like you had a great first day though. Look forward to hearing more.

Can't wait to read more! *hint, hint* *nudge, nudge* ;)

I hope you had a very happy birthday! :goodvibes

So I need to post this now for you before I forget! I know you mentioned you're a David Cook fan. He'll be playing at the Ventura County Fair on August 12th at 7:30pm!

Yes, I'm in love with DC. Are you going? If not, then maybe we can do something afterward? Otherwise I probably won't go. I drove to Universal City a few days ago for a concert and unless I can do more, then even a 30 minute drive is questionable.

Sorry everyone, my internet is still shotty. Hopefully it will be fixed soon!
