My boss finally put in for our bonus that we were supposed to get at Christmas. I thought we were not receiving it, but apparently he felt bad that we weren't getting it because of him so corporate let him put it in late. Unfortunately, there seems to be a problem. We received an email about what the amount would be. The amount is- whatever money we receive back from warranty work is split between 9 employees. This is the email I received
I took this as saying that the $3852.99 is to be split evenly, therefore a balance of $428.00 going to each employees. So I received the bonus check today and it's for the entire amount. Same with the other 8 employees. Our boss is in Las Vegas for an awards ceremony and the supervisor told us that it's a mistake and that we shouldn't spend more then the $428. My question is, how will corporate go about getting the rest of the money back if we cash that check? Sorry so long, but without our boss being here for the next 6 days I'm not sure what to do. Any thoughts?The amount split evenly between the 9 employees is: $3852.29. This will pay out on their next pay check (not this Friday's).
