I think I may have asked this some months back but will be at Bonnet Creek from 6th December. Just wondering your thoughts on best building to request. My son loves to swim so would be nice to be by the pool. MMost important thing for us though is to have a nice quiet room.
Any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks
We were at Bonnet Creek this past August. We stayed in two different buildings. Our first stay (one week), was in the Torre del Mar (bldg. #3). Our unit was at the far end of the building, next to the construction. Construction started at the crack of dawn. We weren't really bothered by it, but I can see it might disturb some people. One thing that I was disappointed with, was the size of the jacuzzi bathtub. It is supposed to be able to accommodate two adults, but it is too small for us average-sized adults. Also, I didn't care for the water jets, which were just tiny holes along the bottom perimeter of the tub that shoot the water upwards.
The two things I liked about this building, was its proximity to the pool. We have young children, so they enjoyed the water slides at this pool. It is between bldgs. 2 & 3. Also, adjacent to the pool area, there are two large gas grills that you can use for no additional charge, to grill your food. We used it several times to cook hamburgers and hot dogs. Had we been aware of this grill, we would have bought more food to cook on the grill.
Our second stay (3 nights) was in the Torre de la Tierra (bldg. #1). It is the oldest building, but it's still looks like new. Surprisingly, out of the two buildings (1 & 3), I preferred this one. Mainly because of the jacuzzi bathtub. The jacuzzis in bldg. #1 are larger and triangular shaped and have the adjustable waterjets like your typical outdoor jacuzzi. It looks like they tried to cut costs in the newer buildings by installing cheaper jacuzzi baths. Without counting the main building, this one is the closest to the main pool area. There is also a miniature golf area near this building. The downside is, if you want to play mini-golf, you have to walk to the main building to get the putters and balls and then you have to walk back to drop them off. If you want to play mini-golf, bring your own clubs and balls. When we go back to Bonnet Creek in 2010, I would want to stay in building #1.
Have a nice trip! You'll really like Bonnet Creek.
