A very good friend of mine is planning a last minute trip to WDW in a couple of weeks. It is a sad story, but she is accompanying her Dsis and terminally ill DBIL to help with their kids in case DBIL has a seizure, etc. while on vacation. She was given the room for "free" from another friend who has Wyndam time share.

Can anyone tell me about the transportation from BC to/from the parks? She is so clueless about all things WDW. She thinks she doesn't need a car because it is "on property". I was not going to argue with her but I need to have all of my "ducks in a row" before I tell her exactly what she needs to know about BC.

Is there a schedule from BC to parks?
Are there specific hours from BC to parks?
Where does the bus drop you off from BC at the parks?

Thanks for any and all help.

There is a FANTASTIC thread on the Attractions and hotels board called "we LOOOOOVVVEEEEE Bonnet Creek". They have a lot of info regarding the location.

We stayed there a week ago, but I cant recall the shuttle info as we drove to the parks. HTH!

Although it is very close to CBR (you have a view of it from many rooms at BC) - IT IS NOT on WDW property. We stayed there last year. They do have some scheduled transportation to WDW, but IMHO you really need to rent a car. I thought maybe we could cut thru to CBR - but there is a fence and a moat! It is not walking distance to any WDW hotels or transport sites.

The Windham Bonnet Creek web site says the shuttle is complimentary (http://www.wyndhambonnetcreek.com/index.cfm), but the WDW internal info says it is $10 a person -- so I don't know which is accurate.

In any case, it is operated by a 3rd party, and goes to each of the 4 parks several times a day. For the MK, they will drop off at the TTC, and the guests will ride the monorail or ferryboat to the park. For the other 3 parks, they will drop off in the charter bus area, which is a short walk to the park gate.

You will need to contact the hotel. Some shuttles require a sign up sheet which means you have to plan your times. Ask about that too.

We stayed there last yr and I would say if a having a car is an option ...I would do it. Nothing is actually very far from Bonnet Creek so it's not alot of driving ....but from what I remember the busses run on a schedule. So if for some reason they would have to leave the park quickly for an emergency ....she would have to wait for the next bus or try to get a taxi.

We stayed there a few years ago. We had complimentary shuttles, they were on a schedule, not a very good one I might add....every 1/2 hour to go in the mornings, but in the afternoon they were every 1hr or 2hrs and they were even longer waits in between in the evenings. IF I ever stayed there again I would have a car. The bus drops off in the parking lot so can be a good distance. The buses you had to book were the ones going to the Outlets. Again this was all 2 years ago. If she is going to rent a car tell her to try Alamo with codes ID 299851 and Rate EXPD. I got great prices with these codes in Feb and am using again in July and Aug. Hope your friend and her family have a wonderful vacation!

You're going to need transportation from MCO to Bonnet Creek. How much more would a rental car cost then a car service? Makes sense to have a car even if plan to use their shuttles most of the time. What if you need to go to a drugstore or to a doctor?

Alternately just supplement the complimentary shuttles with an occasional taxi.
