Anyone been here? How was it? Do you have any pics? The Food Porn thread only had one post and the pics are not available......Any info would be great....thanks!!!!

I have been there and enjoyed it quite alot. The Pollo Asado was very, very good. The only thing I didn't like was my drink, I tried a Mojito and it was too strong for my taste.

I am interested in this also.. you never hear much about it but I have been interested in it and this next trip we are spending the night out in Pleasure Island and are looking for someplace new to eat.

1) We enjoy Bongos.
2) We like that they are NOT on the DDP.
3) It makes it less crowded.
4) It also keeps the noise down and makes it more pleasant.

NOTE: We like to go to the AMC movies for a Noon or 1:00pm movie. We usually stop at Bongos for lunch prior to the movie.

I don't have pictures, but I love Bongos. My favorites are the chicharrones and ceviche. If you like authentic Latino/Caribe food, you will adore this location. :thumbsup2

Spoken like a true local!!

It always seems to get a bad rap, but I have been twice and enjoyed it both times. Both times I had the shredded beef, Ropa Vieja, and I enjoyed it. The have a good cafe con leche and nice sangria.

I have sat on the patio in nicer weather and inside during bad weather and enjoyed both atmospheres. I also thought we had a great server last time...can't remember much about the server the first time I went.

Like I said I don't get why this place gets a bad rap. So much better than Planet Hollywood or Rainforest Cafe (both yucks to me) IMHO.

Speaking of their sangria...I am not planning on going there when I take my DD in May. Mainly because I want to try something new. I notice they have a takeout window, does anyone know if you can get sangria from the takeout window?
