Has anyone ever eaten at Bongos at Downtown Disney West Side? I was considering giving this restaurant a try and was wondering if it was any good. Never heard anything about the food so I have no idea what to expect. How is it? Do they take PS? Anything info or oppinions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have eaten here 3 times.

The first time I was here in October 1998 and it was great we sat outside on the patio and had a wonderful meal- great food, great server and good pace. We were seated straight away and it was a week night.

Second time - took some friends to eat here as it had been sooo good the last time. This was now November 2000. It was a mad house again it was a week night but we had to wait ages for a table and the woman on the podium didn't really handle the customers very well who were complaining about the wait. You cannot make PS for this restaurant. I had said that we would wait for a patio table. Once seated outside our waiter never came to see us as he was too busy shmoozing some other tables. So he sent his inexperienced bus boy who then got our drinks order wrong. The food was fine and interesting so no complaints there.

Third time - went with some friends after shopping in DTD last December. The restaurant was busy but we didn't have to wait long. My only complaint that time was that we hadn't even finished the appetizers when they brought out our entrees. Also it's very loud.

If others in my party wanted to eat here I would but it is not a choice of restaurant I would make. Not because of the food that's fine but the service and attitude sucks - and it's not because I'm used to WDW restaurants, Portobello Yacht Club, Fultons and Rainforest Cafe are all non-Disney and I have never been disappointed by the service I have received there.

Don't think they take PS. Eaten lunch at Bongo's twice. Food is pretty good, several excellent beer selections also (Hatuey among them ). While not "loud" at lunch", I hear it can get pretty noisy at dinner time and beyond. Service was "young/hip"--that is, the servers spent lots of time dancing , etc with each other and entertaining themselves.

We ate there a couple times . I think i remember making a ps for it but i am not sure. Food was good . we would go back ...
