BonFire and Movie at BCV

Thanks for all the info. We stayed at BC back in '06 and either I missed this or they weren't doing it then. We're back at the BC this February and will definately plan to be on the beach for the campfire & movie- the kids will love it!

It wasn't offered in 2006. It started last summer I think. The Y&BC/BCV activities have really expanded in the last year or so.

It was offered on a trial basis in September, 2006. I remember talking to the CM, who said that it would be reevaluated at the end of September and either ended or continued. I'm so glad that after that trial month they decided to continue it.

Of '06....really??? Are you sure it wasn't just last year, Simba's Mom? I sure don't remember it happening before that.

Maybe we'll finally run into each other this trip. It looks like we'll be there around the same time.

Gee, now you got me second-guessing myself. I was at BCV in both Sept., 2006 and Sept, 2007 so I may have been confused. I was also there in January, 2007, and now that I think about it, I didn't see any movies then, So, you're right-it WAS September, 2007. Bad memory on my part!
BTW, 10/17-10/24 at BCV, then night of 10/24-10/25 at VWL unless my waitlist to stay at BCV comes thru. 51 days!

Although I don't know what the schedule is for this September, I dug out my "September Recreation Activities" for 2007.
Sunday-"Cars"
Monday-"Toy Story"
Tuesday-"The Pacifier"
Wednesday-"The Incredibles"
Thursday-"Finding Nemo"
Friday-"Pirates of the Caribbean:The Curse of the Black Pearl"
Saturday-"Lilo and Stitch"
All shown at 9:00. I'd really love for the schedule to be the same this month, but I know that when I went back in December, 2007, the schedule was different. For instance, they didn't show "Finding Nemo", yet they did show "Meet the Robinsons".

I just had to chime in and say I love the picture of Papi!!!

We were at BCV Aug 8-15th and they had the campfire and movie but there was no singalong...

This is correct. We go the third week of September every year, and the movie on the beach has been there the last two Septembers (2006 and 2007). Both times, it has been on the beach beside the childrens' Pirate slide, on the Epcot side of the slide (not the Yacht Club side of the slide). Both times, CMs built a campfire and sold s'mores packages.

There is so much in the s'mores packages that it lasted us 2-3 nights, we just kept taking the sticks and stuff back with us and making another one every night.

We are looking forward to the movie nights next week - it has become one of our favorite parts of the trip. Our child plays in the sand for hours, we relax in the beach chairs. After a busy day in the park, it doesn't get much better.

I just want to clarify one more time about the smores (since it changes what we need to bring ourselves). Can anyone who has been recently, like in the last couple of months, verify that they still sell the smores kit? I've been told that at Ft. Wilderness they now sell all the "ingredients" separately.

It's been slightly more than a couple months but they were selling them when we were there at the end of May.

Anyone who's been recently know if it's a movie every night or just a couple times during the week? Or, maybe it depends on the time of year? We'll be there the end of February.

When we were there this summer, I think it was every night. You can also buy marshmallows. I paid $3 for a bag that was big and we used it for three nights.

we just got back last week... it was great.. we watched national treasure 2 one night.. it started at 9.. then one night they had nemo.. i think that started at 8.. firew first then movie.. get there a little early to get a lawn chair.. or you just sit in the sand.. and you can turn around and watch the epcot fireworks.. we love it.

I think that we were there the same time as you! Did Finding Nemo stop playing briefly midway through the movie?

So this is just for the BC? I am staying at the BWV. When we were there in July we saw the screen but didn't go over there. We will be back in Nov. can we go to it? Do they ask for ID on where you are staying?
