Had my lower wisdom teeth removed about 10 days ago and I have a sharp piece of bone poking out of my gums. The oral surgeon and my dentist both said they usually work their way out on their own.

It’s not a very pleasant feeling. My recovery has been pretty straight forward except for this.

Ever had one?

I had this happen a very long time ago. If I remember correctly it hung on for quite a long time and I eventually just pulled it out and it healed up quickly.

Omg this sounds horrible - does it cause pain ? I’ve never heard of this - is this a common thing did they say ??
You pulled it yourself ?? Like ripped a piece of bone out ?? ( part of me wants to say - good for you and part of me is like wow why did you have too?? )
I’m sorry you are having to deal with this I hope it improves
I’m sorry if I’m being invasive I’ve just never heard of this and find it shocking after having teeth pulled I would need to remove anything myself - I’ve had 9 including wisdom removed

It’s still there. They said I could pull at it but it doesn’t want to budge. I guess it’s somewhat common. I’ve rubbed my tongue against it about 4,000 times.

Omg that would have to GO because I would be doing that nonstop Haa haa
Where’s the pliers ??? Couple shots Jack Daniels swipe the pliers with rubbing alcohol we are good to go !!
I hope this improves for you !!

It’s not extremely painful but I can tell it’s there and there have been a few moments of pain but I’m still healing from the surgery itself.

I‘ve never had one and it sounds like it’s very unpleasant.
I hope it gets better for you soon :wizard: before you make your tongue raw from messing with it (that’s what would happen to me if I had that).

They removed one bone spur but I have another one under my gum so they have to make an incision, smooth the bone down, and stitch me back up. 👍😳 Maybe I’ll lose a few pounds from existing on soup.

No but I did have some surprise extra wisdom teeth, which led to having three removed and I still have three.
