Bon Voyage Party

My parents want to have a small Bon Voyage Party for us the night b4 we leave for Disney. Does any1 know exactly what Bon Voyage means? I thought it always ment something to do with going on a cruise maybe I'm wrong, i dont know. Would it be appropriate to make invitations that say Bon Voyage for a (non cruise) trip to Disney? Thanks
