Bombshell Obama Pastor Video

Obama has removed him from his spiritual committee, denounced and repudiated the remarks, and has said repeatedly said he does not share them.

I'm not watching the shows that he's giving interviews on tonight (I don't do commercials and will watch after they're recorded), so maybe you're getting some information from the 1st one? If not, where have you heard that he's removed him for the campaign? That wasn't in any article that's been linked to here.

He said it on Keith Olbermann tonight.

I just watched his first interview on Olbermann. The pastor did remove himself from Obama's campaign. Obama said he denounced the pastor's statements but said he would not denounce the man in general since he is like a family member to him. He said he never heard him make such statements (which we know is untrue from the Newsmax article). In a nutshell.

I think this is going to seriously damage Obamas credibility with the undecided voters. I've seen quite a few just on this thread.

Just as I thought. "In 20 years of his preaching, I never, ever heard him go off like this. Honest. I promise. It's news to me. And if indeed someone has video of me at church during one of these services, I had a severe ear infection that rendered me unable to hear his sermon. So did Michelle. Seriously. He always preached racial harmony when I was around and never said a word against The Man....Oops, I mean Whites....Caucasians.....non-Blacks. I deplore his beliefs, which were apparently obvious to everyone but me and Michelle and I swear I deplored them before I started my campaign for POTUS......I mean, I if I had known about them when I began my campaign....but I didn't. Pinky swear." :rolleyes1

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Well if he didn't know about his own beloved pastor's statements then he is a fool, which may even be worse as far as being President.

But I tend to believe that he did know. His statement to the pastor a year ago that he may have to distance himself shows that he knew something. And the pastor seemed mighty comfortable making the statements, there certainly were no gasps from the audience.

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Well I think we all know what he is going to say. I completely denounce the pastor's statements, I don't agree with them in any way, I never heard him make those statements.

There, now you don't have to watch! :rotfl:

Isnt it amazing how the pastor just said horrible things when Obama wasnt around!:rolleyes1

Being from IL I have voted for Obama in the past. How can he say hes never seen this type of garbage at church before? It would be great from some news station to review the last 12 months of sermons say to see if this was a one time thing but I doubt it. .
The 'legitimate' NEWS, yet again, has done a great diservice to the American people! What the choose to show us, is NOT always what we need to hear. HOORAY for YOU TUBE!:thumbsup2

And you buy the load of hooey lock, stock and barrel????

how bout these little belivable gems ..."the check is in the Mail?" or "But your Honor, I didnt know the Gun was loaded?"; "(forgive me lord) "I did not have sex with THAT woman?" "I am not a crook" "Read my Lips...NO NEW TAXES", "Saddam Harbors Weapons of Mass Destruction"...etc!:sad2:

I don't like JMc at all. HC would be the last person on the face of the Earth that I would ever vote for. I just want this to not be true. I truly loved this man's optimism for the future and now I'm so back and forth that I just don't want it to be true. It's a big enough issue that I can't just turn my back on it, though, and I doubt I'm alone in that.

I'm more than ready for a Black president. Just not THIS Black president. I believe Barbara Jordan would have been a fine president, but a Black woman didn't stand a snowball's chance in Hades in her day...or any woman, for that matter.

If Michelle Obama has never before been proud to be an American, then she is an ingrate. :headache: I'd say America has been pretty good to her and her family. I grew up never seeing a female president, female astronaut or female executive, but that didn't cause a lack of pride in America. If someone cannot be proud to be an American simply because someone of their race, sex, religion, ethnicity, etc. has never been president then that says to me that all they really care about IS race, sex, religion, ethnicity, etc. That is their focus, their main concern.

And that gets us back to that nutcase preacher. After listening to several of his sermons in which he blames The Man for all of the Black Man's ills, I want to barf. His sermons are full of racism, hate and anger.....Just as a church should be. NOT! And they are targeted at Whites. There is a not only a Black pride message there, there is an anti-White message. And that is quite a distinction. One is positive, one is negative, and you can certainly have Black pride without White hate.

Why does this matter, so many of you keep asking? Why should we care what his minister says? How will that affect him as POTUS? Here's how: This is a man who takes his religion very, very seriously. He has made that plain and clear. If he gave mere lip service to it as many do, it probably wouldn't matter. But it is a big part of WHO HE IS and WHAT HE IS. He chose this church knowing what this pastor was like, what his positions were and he chose to stay there 20 years. He proudly identifies his as his spiritual advisor. That is a person you turn to for guidance. He relies on this person. He doesn't hide that at all. In 20 years, he had to hear this crap many times. It's clearly available and not hidden. Yet he stayed and financially supported this church. He put his money where his heart was. Had he found the racist, hate-filled, angry rantings of this whack job objectionable, let alone intolerable, he would have walked away years ago and found another church. But he did not. That tells me he agrees with it, whether he is saying the words out loud or not. And that ingrate wife of his has made her attitude clear by her snarky comments.

I don't care what he SAYS. I can say I'm a 6 foot tall supermodel, but that doesn't make it so. Geez, people....It's not as if a politician has never lied through his teeth to get elected before. He stuck by this man for 20 years and relied on him for help in matters of faith....a faith that is an essential part of him. It has formed his morals and ethics. He roosted with one nasty chicken and he liked it.

If I had been in a church that started badmouthing Blacks and spewing hate the way his pastor did, I'd have walked out right then and there. Forget staying 20 years! I did that once when the minister went off on alcoholics, because he was being too pious for my taste.

The fact that he selected this church and remained a faithful member for 20 years, using this man as his spiritual guide, tells me what is in his heart of hearts and it ain't pretty. He may come across like Opie, but Sheriff Andy was NOT his role model, was he?

There is a definite double standard at work here. If HC or JMc went to a church for 20 years and its minister spouted the kind of racist hate-filled filth against BLACKS that this guy does against WHITES, they would be dead politically. And they would deserve it, IMHO. Obama should be held to the same standard. Racism is racism. Hate is hate.
:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Obama says he didn't here this crap many times. Do you have some information that says otherwise?

Obama says he wasn't hearing that kind of anger and hate for 20 years. Got any information that says he did?

What do you mean by that? Do you have any information that he did?
do you?
How about this? Forgive me if it's already been posted-

http://archive.newsmax.com/archives/articles/2007/8/8/194812.shtml

Make sure to read the whole thing- especially the part about Obama nodding in agreement to Wright's statement from the pulpit -while Obama sat in on the sermon-that the US is called the "United States of White America"-
I"m quoting here: "Wright laced into America's establishment, blaming the "white arrogance" of America's Caucasian majority for the woes of the world, especially the oppression suffered by blacks. To underscore the point he refers to the country as the "United States of White America." Many in the congregation, including Obama, nodded in apparent agreement as these statements were made." end quote

And also the last paragraph, where Wright admits to telling Obama that he will have to distance himself.
Again, I quote: "If Barack gets past the primary, he might have to publicly distance himself from me," Wright told The New York Times with a shrug. "I said it to Barack personally, and he said 'yeah, that might have to happen.'" End quote.

Also note the date. August, 2007.

J~
damning....

well, of course not now that he is running for president!

Uh yeah I do actually and I think his public service record shows it.

I have to say that I'm really disappointed in Obama and some of his supporters and the weird thing is, I never considered myself a supporter. I didn't think I would care about the political process too much anymore. I guess I admired him more than I thought and gave him too much credit. Won't happen again and duly noted.

I have seen people defend him over this and I had to log off and walk away for a while, that's how disgusted I was. I don't like what his preacher said one bit and certainly don't care for how it was handled by Obama and his staff. The hypocrisy and double standard is so overwhelming, yet some ignore it and fail to do the right thing. Why Obama didn't cut that guy lose years ago is beyond me? For 20 years he was a member of that church and allowed that POS to be an influence on his life. There is no way I would have stayed there more than 5 minutes after hearing anything remotely like that from that preacher's mouth. Yet I see excuses. He should have cut all ties with him long ago, but it is what it is.

The whole things just reeks to me and the picture of them both just smiling that is on ABC news. com, is enough to make my stomach turn. It just isn't right and I guess the outrage is only directed at certain politicians. Another lesson learned. My country deserves better than this and so do I. The anger I feel right now is starting to get the best of me, so this is the last of this for awhile.

I was not patronizing when i suggested it.....

yet the response was that they would rather "wash their feet" or "pick their nose"

Correct - more productive things!!! :thumbsup2

It would be great from some news station to review the last 12 months of sermons say to see if this was a one time thing but I doubt it. After Obamas statement was issued that he doesnt like this & has never seen these kind of statements it was also reported that he will keep this minister on his advisory panel! I think that tells you alot about how he really feels. Any other candidate would have gotten him off any panels if they werent already dead politically. With his wife statements in the last month & now this I will not vote for Obama for anything. Racism is racism whether its said by whites or afro americans.

Bingo.

well, of course not now that he is running for president!

I know - unless he's completely clueless, he HAS to say this. He HAS to.

Honestly - I almost feel bad for the supporters. This is absolutely unacceptable, and disrespectful. I know so many people had a 'dream' - but quite frankly the news of late is much more of a nightmare.

Tim, I know you and I come at this thing from opposite points of view. The way I see it is Obama's problem is that he can't undo the past. Regrettably whatever he says now can't undo 20 of "spiritual growth" (some of which was no doubt good and some of which comes off as frankly frighetning and shocking).

Well don't get me wrong, I find the remarks in question absolutely disgusting, especially from a man of faith. I also think it's troubling that Obama considered this guy a spiritual adviser, even if some of what the Pastor had to say was positive. I do think he made a fatal mistake in appointing him on this spiritual committee (whatever that means) on his campaign, given the Pastor's controversial remarks. However, I don't hold Obama accountable for these cherry-picked videos especially in regards to what Obama has explained about his faith and his views on the man, the words, and the message. I won't lie and say I'm not disappointed in Obama but I don't believe for a second that he shares those radical views.

Yeah, I can see the typical Sunday morning at TUCC. Wright asks, "Is Barack around?.... No?... Good, let's break out the vitriol." :lmao:

I respect you and your opinion 100%, and I hope to God that if he is elected you are right and I am wrong. I just have a real strong awful, sickening feeling right now.

He is done, stick a fork in him.

Before I am discounted as just a right wing nutjob....yes, I will be voting for McCain; however, my husband will vote for Hillary if she is the nominee.

I would not mind Hillary in the white house....but I would have a problem with an anti-white, anti-jew and ANTI-AMERICAN bigot in the white house. JMO

I think your right, he can never win a national election now, the Dems have a mess if he dont quit his run, because the math dont work for Hillary.
