Bombshell Obama Pastor Video

How about this? Forgive me if it's already been posted-

Make sure to read the whole thing- especially the part about Obama nodding in agreement to Wright's statement from the pulpit -while Obama sat in on the sermon-that the US is called the "United States of White America"-
I"m quoting here: "Wright laced into America's establishment, blaming the "white arrogance" of America's Caucasian majority for the woes of the world, especially the oppression suffered by blacks. To underscore the point he refers to the country as the "United States of White America." Many in the congregation, including Obama, nodded in apparent agreement as these statements were made." end quote

And also the last paragraph, where Wright admits to telling Obama that he will have to distance himself.
Again, I quote: "If Barack gets past the primary, he might have to publicly distance himself from me," Wright told The New York Times with a shrug. "I said it to Barack personally, and he said 'yeah, that might have to happen.'" End quote.

Also note the date. August, 2007.

2- Didn’t people crucify President Bush for his long time association with the “religious right?”
No, the main criticizing was for his *actions* in placating the religious right.

Why let a public statement and a mini-media tour get in the way of some hardcore conservative hyperventilating? After hitting the news circut tonight, this whole thing will be forgotten in a few days...

Meanwhile in Palookaville, Bear Sterns goes belly up, the stockmarket takes yet another hit, and the so-called fiscal conservatives still aren't calling for President Bush's head. Of course, asking Sen. Obama to condemn something his pastor said and then rejecting that condemnation (BIG surprise! ) is far more important than what's going on with our country's fiscal outlook...

What is going on with this country?!?!

Well, on the plus side I've only lost 3 grand since the beginning of the month, so the economy isn't doing too badly ;) But may I say I'm glad I have no funds with Bear Sterns...

I hope you're right. I just watched a few videos of him (on the campaign trail that I'd seen before) and I so want to believe he's sincere. I've loved his message since the first time I heard it.

I really do believe he's the best man for the job and that he's got the best chance of any of the candidates in uniting the most people. I really feel like we're just too separated right now to accomplish much of anything worthwhile.

It just reminds me of one of my favorite quotes.
“We must all hang together or most assuredly we will all hang separately.”

That's enlightening.

I suspect there are many who are in relatively silent agreement with this pastor specifically and his views in general. So IMO, it's entirely possible for Obama (and his lovely wife) to be part of that group.

A month is an eternity in politics, so this will be soon forgotten. IMO, if Gerry Ferraro would have apologized and moved on, rather than going on all kinds of news shows over the past week defending herself, that story would have been long gone by now as well...

Unless your name is George W. Bush! (or Bill Clinton)

On the flip side though, it goes on to say that he was useful for Obama's campaign because he helped draw in more of the black voters. Something that Obama needs to win the nomination.

Maybe, just maybe, he's using him to get the nomination. I'd rather find out this is the case than find out that he's a radical bigot.

This article has gone into a lot of detail to show how he has tried to distance himself somewhat.

This article may be the smoking gun.

......

But for 20 yrs? He knew 20 yrs ago that one day he'd like to run for POTUS and needed to secure the black vote?

I am not sure this thing has legs, but it is damaging in the short term.

Well I think at the very least it takes him off his pedestal that he was placed on by the media and some of his supporters.

However, my smoking gun comment was referring more to his statement to the Huffington Post that he never heard such remarks during any sermons he attended. The article says that they observed Obama at a sermon when similar statements were made and that he nodded his head in agreement.

I'm sure you're not genuinely attempting to encourage people to read his books with such patronizing remarks.

I was not patronizing when i suggested it.....

yet the response was that they would rather "wash their feet" or "pick their nose"

Being from IL I have voted for Obama in the past. How can he say hes never seen this type of garbage at church before? It would be great from some news station to review the last 12 months of sermons say to see if this was a one time thing but I doubt it. After Obamas statement was issued that he doesnt like this & has never seen these kind of statements it was also reported that he will keep this minister on his advisory panel! I think that tells you alot about how he really feels. Any other candidate would have gotten him off any panels if they werent already dead politically. With his wife statements in the last month & now this I will not vote for Obama for anything. Racism is racism whether its said by whites or afro americans.

But for 20 yrs? He knew 20 yrs ago that one day he'd like to run for POTUS and needed to secure the black vote?

Oh, I wasn't making the argument to explain the 20 years. I was making it as a way of maybe explaining why he's still on the campaign.

If the one posters is right about the GOP being behind this, my guess is, they'll release this tidbit, wait for him to dig the hole a bit deeper, then come out with guns ablaze.

I am an undecided voter, each remaining candidate had a 33% chance of earning my vote. That number is now 50% as there is now no way I will even consider voting Obama. Our state primary will not happen until late May, there has been damage done. With thousands of military personnel based at Ft Knox, Ft Campbell, and others here, watching a "mentor" make fun of God Bless America while our troops are in the middle of a desert defending our country is an absolute disgrace.

Obama needs to distance himself from this guy in a major way if it is not too late.

Obama has removed him from his spiritual committee, denounced and repudiated the remarks, and has said repeatedly said he does not share them.
