Bombshell Obama Pastor Video

They are not running the country. Their decision making does not necessairly impact whether my child lives or dies, the President does. The office of the presidency is not a 40 hour a week job at ABC company, and someone's judgement, perceptions, beliefs, and decision making ought to be scrutinized to the highest degree. Obama does not have a lot in the way of experience, so what else are we supposed to judge him on?

Obama has himself a real pickle here, truth is I think the guy does agree with a lot of what Wright has to say...otherwise why elevate him to the level of moral compass and not come out yourself and completely decry what he has said? why have him marry you? attend his chruch for twenty years? baptize your children? The puzzle pieces are all coming together now on Obama, and I for one am deathly afriaid of the overall picture :scared1:

I have to agree with you here. After I watched the videos, I'm even more frightened than before. Originally, I was overly concerned about his lack of experience, now we need to potentially add racism into the mix.

What I also find a little disconcerting is that people are defending this minister on this thread. He couldn't be any more anti-American and/or racist. I don't understand it.

well sticking your head in the sand and pretending that a self labeled "devout" religious person is immune to the influence of his Church when it comes to judgment and decision making is consistent, but its not a *good* idea IMO.

friendly word of advice...careful about the personal stuff. Anything that can be perceived as a personal insult probably will be for the next few months. I don't want to see anyone get points. :flower3:

I don't care about someone's religion when I hire them for a job, and to me the Presidency is a job, a big important job-but it is still a job. My boss and my doctor have a far greater impact on my day to day existence than the President does. My doctor certianly has a far greater impact on whether I live or die! My boss certianly has a greater impact on my personal economy than the President does.

All I'm saying is that I personally find it inconsistent to be so concerned about the religous habits of Presidential candidates and not even know about the religious habits of people who have a more direct impact on day to day life. YMMV, but that's how I feel.

I don't see it.....He was just stating the truth....
The white man has always controlled the power and the money in this country...Blacks are still discriminated....and he was stating how
"hillary" or any white person for that matter....wouldn't have any idea how much racism is still alive.
Why is that so bad to say....when it is just a fact.:confused3

Earlier, I did answer your question. How am I being inconsistent?:confused3

Are you serious?

Do you need a list of very prominent black people who assist the president in running this country? I'm certain there are many who would be happy to provide it. I'll name one. Condi Rice.

What he stated about "Hillary" was just plain rude, tactless, and ignorant.

Well, he talked about white people with derision, that is why it was offensive. It wasn't just what he said it was the way he said it, with venom.

The funny thing is he lumped Hilary in with "rich white men". Being that Obama is half-white and a man and rich, he is probably closer to being a "rich white man" than Hilary. And there are other clips of him making racist and anti-American statements.

didn't say you were....I just was stating what I feel would be inconsistent-hence the word "personally" in the sentence. I also added that YMMV-meaning "your mileage may vary" or your opinion may differ.

Whether you're opinion is inconsistent or not is not something for me or anyone to decide-that's a personal evaluation. I didn't mean to convey otherwise.

Not to mention that both Obama and his wife have gone to some of the most elite schools in this country.

Of course he has a message they embrace.....did you notice all the black people in the audience.....and yes they are still predjudiced against....I don't know why you find it offensive that they noticed.
Kerri

I am not offended that "they noticed". But when a pastor says to "damn America", asserts that we "invented AIDS/HIV and preaches a far left agenda, I question that kind of leadership in a church. I question a leader that would sit in a pew every Sunday and digest that. Most people embrace a religion and a denomination that they are internally comfortable with. I am a Congregationalist, part of the UCC that actually Barrack Obama is part of, however, I can guarantee you, that if our pastor delivered such a hateful speech, courted division, etc, more than half of the congregation would walk out. Churches in our denomination can "hire and fire" our pastors.

Maybe they should really be Republicans.... :lmao:

Sorry, had to add a little levity....

Well Condi....is Bush's puppet. I know there are black people who are in gov't....that dosen't mean they have any real power.

I thought that was funny.(lumping hill with the men) I do think that black pastors have a different "style" of preaching. I just think that everything he said was TRUE....so
I guess that is why it dosen't bother me.
Kerri
edit....BTW I did vote for Hillary.

I was going to say that as well. Apparently the "rich white men" didn't keep Obama and Michelle down in that regard. I know for certain there are many "white men" would can't afford Harvard.

Fair enough-then where does your candidate of choice attend church and what messages is he hearing from his pastor? Shouldn't you know that before you vote?

He also grew up in Hawaii, where everyone is a minority so it is doubtful that he experienced the type of discrimination that the pastor rails about.

How about Colin Powell? Was he also a puppet?

Why don't you google "black politicians." You'd be amazed at what you find.

Exactly! Seriously, it's so laughable that people think that blacks aren't pulled over by cops for the color of their skin in this country, or cabs pass them by, or are still called the "n" word by bigots. Well, it would be laughable if it weren't so sad.

Now, no clergy should be promoting a candidate in a house of worship like that--it isn't right. But honestly, apart from that, what's the big deal everybody? From what I was reading, I thought I was going to get a completely different message from that video.

You must not have seen the other clips of him putting down America. One of his lines was that people should not say "God Bless America" but should instead say "God D*** America".

I don't think anyone on here is denying there is racism against black people, of course there is and it is horrible that there is. The pastor's clips go way beyond that though.

Well, when he gets elected, more people will be able to afford higher education. That $4000 credit and easier financial aid application will open a lot more doors for a lot more kids. :thumbsup2

  • Create the American Opportunity Tax Credit: Obama will make college affordable for all Americans by creating a new American Opportunity Tax Credit. This universal and fully refundable credit will ensure that the first $4,000 of a college education is completely free for most Americans, and will cover two-thirds the cost of tuition at the average public college or university and make community college tuition completely free for most students. Obama will also ensure that the tax credit is available to families at the time of enrollment by using prior year's tax data to deliver the credit when tuition is due.
  • Simplify the Application Process for Financial Aid: Obama will streamline the financial aid process by eliminating the current federal financial aid application and enabling families to apply simply by checking a box on their tax form, authorizing their tax information to be used, and eliminating the need for a separate application.

Carry on with the outrage....

Maybe they should really be Republicans.... :lmao:

Sorry, had to add a little levity....

You have a very stereotypical view of Republicans. Not to mention completely false. You head over to Harvard and Princeton and see how many Republicans you find.

He also grew up in Hawaii, where everyone is a minority so it is doubtful that he experienced the type of discrimination that the pastor rails about.

And where he attended the most elite private school on the island.

It was a JOKE....I'm sorry, I thought people would understand that when I put the little laughing guy there.
