We booked a Boma dinner for October. I have never done Boma with a gluten allergy...wondering what I will be missing??

I'd give dinner 50.5% and breakfast 49.5%! Both are excellent. I've not seen anything specific with precautions at Boma yet, but I believe Disney is requiring masks for indoor dining, so there's at least that. But with this being the first buffet, and a bit of an experiment for WDW, I thought they might require masks while standing by the food - but I don't know if that will happen. They have opened a buffet or 2 at DL. I'm not sure if there are any specific protocols there, but someone might.

I'm hoping they keep the Buffet exactly as it was BUT the cast member serves you.

They are calling for masks indoors unless actively eating and drinking, so I believe guests will be required to put on a mask before going to the buffet.

Oh my, we are so in agreement! The one food that can be an appetizer, an entree, a snack, AND a dessert!!! Sometimes even during the same meal!! Love that soup!

I've been there with a gluten-free friend, and the chef made her special gluten-free versions of the desserts.

We scored a breakfast reservation for the 21st of August at 9:25. We have not dined here since 2014 but have said over the years this was our favorite breakfast ever. Very very excited.

Has anyone heard anything about Boma reopening? Rumor had been there'd be reopening on 8/20, so I was hoping ADRs would be available today. Can't find anything, Boma and Jiko aren't coming up on Disney's site at all for me, not even listed as "temporarily unavailable." Hoping Boma reopens in time for my trip 8/18-8/23!

We managed to get two ressies for our upcoming trip in Oct! They were live for us around 5:50 AM. We're DVC members, and AKV is our home resort. Love to see this reopening!

Lots of activity at Boma tonight — closed for a “private event”, said to be a taste testing. Rumor that ribs will be on the menu every night along with many new items. We will be there for breakfast Friday morning

This is my husband’s favorite restaurant, I easily booked a dinner (5:00pm) for Tuesday Aug 31 after our AK day, and before we head to Boo Bash. We’ll eat, head back to CR to rest, then walk over to Boo Bash when the day crowds thin out.

Ugh! Much as I love Boma, with the way the Delta variant is spreading now, just looking at those serving tongs gives me the willies... who knows who picked them up before me! Or heaven help us, uses their fingers!

Open buffet was not what I was hoping for.... preferred a CM to do the serving. Unfortunately this is now off my list.

Fingers crossed Jiko comes back sooner rather than later.

The article does reference the buffet is being regularly watched and maintained, as well as the utensils being changed frequently.
I miss Jiko too. That's always a must do for us.
