Oh my where should I start...
It was great no....It was worth the money no...
It was a culinary lesson that we will not forget - I mean that in a "good" way.

It was a chance to try something different than your run of the mill meals. Being a buffet it allowed you to take a small portion to sample to see if you liked it. It was a way to experience foods from another culture so the conversation at dinner was focused around what each other was sampling.

We found the experience to be one we would do again. The food was different but not too exotic. It was different because of how they prepared it. It was not off the wall foods such as roasted zebra or fried cockroaches.
So if you have a chance try it you will be surprised at what you discover.
If you like pumpkin pie... you must try the butternut squash soap... it is heavenly. It taste just like pumpkin pie and I found their recipe and plan to make it for Thanksgiving - YUM!!!!!:thumbsup2

OBW - We had reservations for 5:00 and it was less crowded as they had just opened so it allowed us a chance to look over the different foods on display and read the descriptions. By the time we went up for our 2nd trip it was a little more crowded and I felt pushed along in the line.

I agree it is something to at least try once. I tried everything that I had never had seen or tasted before, and I was not thrilled with anything except the bobotie (of which I want to make myself now). But...I tried it, and it wasn't a complete loss for me. I learned that I like certain things and don't like certain things. Will it stop me from going again if everyone else wants to go? Probably not...but I will definitely eat the things I like and know this time around. And I have to make sure we are staying in the hotel so I can grab something else for my girlfriend who hated it in every way...$30 for chicken nuggets, french fries, and salad...ugh.

My dh loved it - we just got back, so I'll upload pictures next week - the soups were out of this world (according to him) His favorite was a seafood one, with mussels, shrimp, and scallops - goodness in a bowl!!

DD had a hard time with the exotic smells, and she didnt complain, but I couldnt get her to eat anything, but a bite here and there, french fries and chicken nuggets!!

I thought the roasted pork shoulder and prime rib were well worth the price!! For drinks I have read about the jungle juice for breakfast and asked about it, and he brought us all a glass - it was a good fruity drink!!
