Honestly, that's a tough call.

I hate waiting out in the lobby for a table, when I arrive early.

I am not always happy with the dinner choices or food quality. Very inconsistent.

The restaurant is usually extremely noisy, even though there are generally less children there, than other restaurants. Acustics, I guess.

I've eaten there at least 8 times, but if I don't again, I'll live. I'd rather have a quiet, civilized, gourmet meal at Jiko. I guess I'm a bit spoiled, but I'll live.

Thanks for the honest thoughts...

I have Boma down, but even though I love trying things, I'm not sure I'll love the food - and am thinking of swapping for Cap'n Jacks...

We loved Boma!!!

We had ADRs, but weren't sure about going. I asked about it at the concierge desk in the lobby of the GF. CM#1 was very enthusiastic. She said she loved it and it was the best restaurant on the property. CM#2 overheard her and said he really didn't like it much!

CM#1 convinced us to give it a try and let her know what we thought of it. When we returned, we told her we loved it and she said lots of guest love it, that she hadn't heard anything negative until her coworker spoke up that day.

I would suggest giving it a try. Not only was it a fun and interteresting (and delicious) meal, but we got to check out AKL and their savannahs -- we liked it so much we're planning to stay there on our next trip to WDW!!!

ITA! I'd choose Jiko's also; it's much quieter, and the food is excellent. :thumbsup2

I haven't tried Capt. Jack's. With all the times I've eaten around WDW, I don't know how I missed them. So I can't compare the two.

You just may hit Boma on a good night. They do have them. Lots of people seem to like it. For that amount of money, I just think you can do better. I hope you have a great time and meal, whatever you decide.

I guess I could try Boma for breakfast this time?

We just found out we got free dining too, so CJ's would be a great opportunity to try some lobster like I've always wanted!!

Or I might have to work harder and move my ADRs around some more!!

We have been there for breakfast and dinner and loved both! :thumbsup2

We absolutely love the place. If we arrive early, I waste time with drinks at the Victoria Falls lounge until we are paged.

Enjoy! :thumbsup2

We've eaten at Boma many times and have always enjoyed it. The soups are unlike any thing in other restaurants. Don't miss all the yummy desserts.

It's one of our two or three favorite WDW restaurants--and DW and DDs are VERY picky eaters. :earsboy:

I went to Boma this past trip with high hopes. Boy, we hated the food so much! Everything is a little too spiced up. A little too different. We are people who like trying new things and from what I read at the DisBoards, was expecting something amazing. I'm suprised just how many people love Boma. There were many dissatified faces in the restaurants. The desserts were ok, but nothing outstanding. The Zebra domes were good, but taste like something i've had. I can't imagine younger children liking it.

This was one of the reccomendations I got from this board and all I could say is Thanks. We loved BOMA.

I can't wait to go back next year.

Love it for Breakfast (and I voted that way because the breakfast is so good), but I don't care to return for dinner. I know this may sound wierd, but I found the dinner buffet boring. All of the food had similar spices, so it seemed like I was trying the same thing over and over again. Not that it was bad, just boring.

Wow you couldn't have matched my thoughts anymore. I like spicey and new stuff, but we found the food to be just downright terrible, and for what we paid, I was very unhappy with it. Wife has different tastes than I do also, but she hated it as well.

I've heard that criticism several times, and honestly I'm puzzled by it. Neither DH (meat-eater) nor I (vegetarian) noticed the same spice in everything both times we ate dinner there. I tried a little of absolutely everything veggie on the buffet, which is a lot. DH had quite a few items as well. I think we would have noticed.
:confused3
