I have a PS for Boma on our last night at WDW, but now I'm wondering if we'd prefer California Grill instead. My husband doesn't like "strange" stuff, but I think Boma would probably have enough "normal" things that he's get a full meal. Plus, after looking at the California Grill's menu, and it seems like it isn't all together "normal" fare either! LOL

We do plan to eat at Le Cellier while we're there, so that's kind of our steakhouse meal for the trip.

What do you think? Stick with Boma, or switch to California Grill?

Thanks!

I do'nt think you can go wrong with either. However,if you have never eaten at Bomas I would give it a try. It is our favorite, and everyone can find something. The desserts are out of this world!!You can also tour the Lodge and see the animals outside.Enjoy!! :earboy2:

You're comparring apples to oranges.

Boma is a casual restaurant, buffet style. The food is primarily African influenced. African twists on everyday food for the most part. There's something for everyone.

At the CG they can make most entree's "plain" no sauces or on the side if you prefer. It's definitely more "gourmet", and the cost to eat there could be almost double the cost to eat at Boma, depending on what you order.

California Grill does have that view, however.
But it's like Ducklite says-buffet vs. table service. You'll probably be able to find something at Boma, and CG will "de-sauce" most meats, etc.

At Boma most of the foods seemed spiced and contain a lot of nuts and pulses, which is great if you like this stuff. If you like plain food I wouldnt recommend it. I have never eaten at the California Grill yet though I plan to try it next stay. IMO CG will cost more than Boma if you have a full 3-4 course meal...The chefs do seem very helpful at Boma and will advise you on what is in each dish.

I would pick California Grill. We are just back and ate at both of these places. I kind of felt like I was in a school cafeteria in Boma, although the tables around the sides of the room looked much more secluded. California Grill was great. There was a nice selection of items. I had a pork tenderloin dish that wasn't "strange" at all! Because of a food allergy, I couldn't eat most of the items in Boma...it was all a little exotic. The chicken tenders from the kid's area were good, but I really hadn't planned on a happy meal!!
