Boma- Soup rotation???

Laura, I know for a fact that the desserts at H&V are made at the bakery next to the Brown Derby and that the desserts at the Garden Grill are made by the Fountainview Bakery as I have been told that by my waitstaff (a few times). :sunny:

I have never had the pretzel bread at Le Cellier (will this trip) but from the pictures I have seen it seems as if the only difference between the Le Cellier pretzel bread and the kind at the Biergarten is how big they are. Maybe someone who has had both can give me the real scoop.

It would be far more efficient for some of the restaurants to share cooking duties and swap prepared foods. Just a thought. I do not know for a fact. Just ruminating.

I had the butternut squash soup last Friday (5/19) at Boma's. It was excellent. I also had it on 5/16 at Tony's and it was just as good there. That is definitely soup to die for.

Thanks for posting the rotation! :sunny: I printed it out so I'll have a copy to keep. Of course, we have Boma ADR's for Sunday! :confused3

Boy, now the BIG question is......Is it worth it to change my iterniary for a bowl (O.K....or several) of soup? :lmao: :lmao:

Wish I did but does it matter, they are all good.

lol...i guess im slow...i know someone said sundays are a rotation day...wha does that mean?? we are going on a sunday, and I'm just curious as to what to expect...i am sure it will be fantastic no matter what...definitely one of our fave restaurants in the World... :cool1:

I agree about the butternut squash soup and hope it might be there on a Sat in Aug otherwise I will just have to get some from Mara. When we were there in Jan the butternut squash and curried coconut seafood soups were on the menu and I believe also some type of crab soup which was also delicious.

Sure, it makes sense that the desserts for one restaurant are made in another restaurant in the same park. But we're not talking about a bakery delivering muffins down the pathway, we're talking about two restaurants having the same recipe for a fairly common item that they both can make in-house. Not all butternut squash soups are necessarily the same, and I doubt that many WDW chefs share recipes. The one at Boma is vegetarian, and I wouldn't want someone assuming Tony's is as well. The ones at V&A and Wolfgang Puck are both made with chicken stock.

But who knows? They may make the exact same soup. :)

is the best soup I have ever tasted! I look forward to it every trip,
In July last year, it wasn't being served the day we went. I guess I went on and on to the waitress about how disappointed I was, and how delicious it was...because a little bit later, one of the chefs came out with a pot of carrot ginger soup he made just for our table!!!!!

It was fantastic! We applauded and raved over him doing that, he was so nice.

At the end of the dinner, he then brought a tray of dessert he had made for us! we were celebrating my birthday, and there were about 12 of us at the table.

It was a magical night!

Hey Laura, they MIGHT swap food through the pneumatic tubes concealed underneath ALL the parks. :lmao: Being in that it is Disney all things ARE possible. They truck frozen foods from place to place and might have special hand trucks just for soup. I have no idea if this is true but it sure is fun supposing. :cloud9: I am far from a vegetarian so I had never thought of that. I admire people who are but I am not that good.

disgal1, everyone likes to be appreciated and it just goes to show that if you are nice to someone they will almost always be nice right back. I sometimes wonder if some of the people who post such bad reviews on things do not go in with an attitude that does not allow them to enjoy the good things that are happening all around them. :confused3 I am surely glad that you had Pixie Dust strewn over your celebration. It is the small things that matter in life.

LAWalz23, so far I count 3 possible places to enjoy the Butternut Squash Soup. I may just eat that at EVERY meal. Darn the cream and butter the squash will surely cancel out all the calories. (wonder if that attitude is what has gotten me to the size I am?) :sad2:

quietgirll, maybe Sunday is 'leftover' day as it is in my home? Disney leftovers are still better than what I eat at home so I do not care! :cheer2:

dtaylor98, thank you for the verification as to the quality of the soups at the two restaurants. I think I would rather live than die though, just so I could have seconds. :teacher:

Glad to see I'm not the only Butternut Squash soup fiend. It tastes like pumpkin pie. I ate sooo much I made myself ill. The carrot ginger soup is also excellent.

I ate at Boma last Oct on a Tuesday, and had the butternut squash soup. It was delicious. And, as good as that was, there was also a creamy she-crab soup that I liked even better.

I think this year I may just fill up on soup and forget about the rest of the food.

Glad we have ADRs at Boma's. It's sounds so good! And these are dishes that are different than your usual restaurant fare. YumYum! :Pinkbounc

tkitty, congratulations on the coming new grandbaby. I have six and I could not imagine ever having TOO many. The best part of a vacation is trying new things and I cannot conceive of wanting to eat cheeseburgers, double or not, on vacation. Buffets are great too as you can try a bite or two of something and find new favorites or things to add to your "never again in this lifetime" list. :lmao:

figmentfan704, Ihope you are on the Free Dining if you only plan to eat soup. :rotfl2:

disneyfav4ever, the only seafood I like is shrimp so even though I gave the she crab soup a try I will leave that you to and keep your share of the Butternut Squash.

TwingleMum, I have a WW diet recipe for crustless pumpkin pie that I ate almost daily for a year. It was wonderful but I am taking a little break from it right now. Too much of a good thing and I think my skin was turning orange. :teeth:
