Hi Everyone , I am having such a hard time deciding where to treat my party of 6. ( Me, My Mom, My Sister, Her Girlfriend, and My 2 kids ) on our Arrival night . I have narrowed it down to Boma - me and kids have eaten here from the Buffet Breakfast but not dinner - Mom, Sis and Friend have never even been to AKL . Again me and kids have done O'hana for the Character Breakfast but not dinner and Mom, Sis and Friend have never been to the Poly . and we have ALL done Chef Mickey's ( which we all think is fun and good ) . I am thinking if I time it right we should be able to see Wishes from either the Poly or Contemp but nothing but dinner ( and the animals if they are still out ) at Boma .. Please any input would be great !! Thanks Michelle

I think your group would enjoy the Boma and visiting the AKL. If your schedule permits you might enjoy visiting Arusha rock and the firepit for "Storytelling" time before dinner. Check with the front desk at AKL for the exact time before making your PS. During our Spring visit we went to Storytelling at 6:30pm and had a PS at the Boma for 7:15pm. This was a wonderful way to see the animals, enjoy some African culture and have some great food. Don't worry about picky eaters the Boma has something to make everyone happy. Don't miss some of our favorites, flank steak, banana wrapped seafood, Bobotie, wonderful soups and curry, pap, African breads, hummus and of course Zebra Domes.

The Boma is becoming our Arrival day treat, and our first taste of the Magic.

I haven't been to Boma (yet), but our family loved 'Ohana! We loved the food, loved the view, loved the atmosphere. We were able to watch the fireworks from our table, which was magic (as was looking at the castle all lit up and pretty while eating), and I have heard that watching the fireworks from the Poly beach is just as magical. So if you are done eating before the fireworks, you can head on down to the beach and watch! We thought Chef Mickey's was okay- the food was fine, the characters were plentiful but quite rushed and it was crazy-hectic. For us, it didn't work as a first night dinner- our kids were very tired from the cross-country flight and I had a headache. I might try it again someday, but am much more likely to revisit 'Ohana.

we have done all three and I can honestly say you can't wrong here. chef mickey's is fun and vibrant. The food selections are probably a little better at O'hana and Boma though. AKL and Boma are a really cool experience for those who haven't done it and O'hana is very fun. At O'hana, you could watch the fireworks from your table or you could go down to the beach and watch after your meal, very cool either way. like I said, with those 3 choices, you can't go wrong!!!

Of the 3 choices, Boma is the riskiest as far as pleasing everyone.

We had Boma for dinner last week, and while everything I liked was delicious, there was quite a bit on the buffet I didn't care for.

The soup and the flank steak was excellent, the deserts were excellent. Most everything else was a little weird for me and my friend. It also must have been "curry" night as everything seemed to have the word curry in the name, and curry is spicy.

Aww, rats! When did you go to Boma, Carol?

Bigsis1970, I don't think you could go wrong with Boma or 'Ohana. If you've not been to the AKL, though, I'd suggest Boma. Don't forget there's storytelling outside at the campfire after dinner, and C/Ms will give you night-vision goggles to see the animals. Very cool.

Hey Len,

We went to Boma on Friday night, right after the Animal Kingdom day.
