I have been wanting to try Boma for years, but I have a family of very picky eaters. My husband is a meat and potatoes type of guy.....no veggies or hot/spicy sauces. Would there be anything for him to enjoy at Boma? I went to Tusker House recently and loved it, but I went with a girlfriend who is also adventurous when it comes to food. We currently have an ADR at Cape May for dinner......but would love to change it to Boma. Would love to see some pictures of the food too! We have eaten there for breakfast and were underwhelmed. I much prefer Crystal Palace or 1900 Park Fare for breakfast.

Thanks!

We love Boma dinner. They have lots of meats that I think your DH would like and some pretty standard foods along with the more African inspired dishes. I say try it especially if you liked Tusker House. :thumbsup2

We always see people at Boma eating the food for the unadventurous (aka picky eaters). Apparently your husband isn't the only one around.

Most of my family is unadventurous when it comes to food, and we loved Boma.
Definitely prefer it to Cape May.

He could do like I had to, and choose from the kid's section. Seriously. I'm a meat-potatoes-salad person, and did not like the flavor of any of their meats, even the beef roast. I didn't even like any of the salads. My DH, who loves all things spicy and hot, didn't enjoy his food there either. Good luck to your DH.

My DD (17 last trip)- is a pretty plain eater . Went to Boma for dinner in May 2012 and it was our absolute fave, the only real must do for our trip this summer. I think that he would find something there that he would enjoy.

My boyfriend and I went last January, I specifically picked Boma because I'm a picky eater but knew he'd love trying the more exotic stuff. I really liked it because all the meats had sauces that could go with them, but they weren't actually on the meat so I enjoyed mine plain while more adventurous eaters can try all the different kinds. I also had mashed potatoes from the kid's section and they had chicken, pasta, and I think macaroni there in case he still doesn't like the regular selections. I don't have a picture of the actual dinner food but I did try one of almost everything from the dessert section!

I think I'm in the minority but I was not a fan of Boma at all. The restaurant was very pretty but I was not impressed with the food. I had really been looking forward to it. It wasn't that it was too adventurous. It just wasn't great food.

I absolutely love Boma, and I know you would, too, OP, if you like Tusker House. But I am always surprised when I see posts saying that a family of picky eaters enjoyed it there. I really found most everything to be on the "adventurous" side. They do have above average chicken nuggets on the kids' buffet, but I'm sure that's not what your husband has in mind for the $.

You will never know until you try it, and I doubt your husband is going to wake up one morning loving African inspired food. But if he's going to be really disappointed if he doesn't care for it, then not so sure. JMO!

There is meat galore at Boma! Like, really MANLY meats, roasted and barbecued! Beef, pork, chicken, salmon.

Thanks everyone! I really appreciate your thoughts/opinions on Boma. I know if I showed the online menu to DH he would definitely say NO! Still on the fence about what to do.....guess we have a couple of days to decide. Thanks again!

Went to "Boma" the other night, and it's now on our "must-do" list!!!

Became the new fave of our dd7!!!

The selection was amazing, and the food was great!!!

Not to mention the setting--- beautiful!!!

There's plenty to eat, even for the unadventurous. My husband, though he is an adventurous eater, returned over and over to the carving station for the roasted meat. He loved it!!!! He filled up mainly on it. I'm not very adventurous, but willing to try things, and still found plenty that I enjoyed. I think it's a fabulous restaurant that has a lot to enjoy from the variety to the ambience. I say go for it!

My parents are most unadventurous when it comes to food. Chef addressed Dads lactose issues by creating a special meal for him and toured Mom on the few items he could have on the buffet. They loved it!

We go back at every visit as we really enjoy the food! There is something for everyone there.
