So, I was reading on another thread that many of you think Bomas has a great breakfast. Can anyone tell me about it-why it's so good and what they have that may be different.
we are actually staying at AKL next trip:cool1:-and now I am thinking I should have booked this for breakfast!

"Boma is awesome", that is a quote from my picky 7yo nephew after our second breakfast at Boma during our 5 day trip to WDW last summer. We did not stay at AKL, so we took two buses each time, paid cash for the second outing (had free dining plan). I also just ate there on Saturday, last meal of my trip.

My favorite items are french toast(doesn't even need syrup), grilled tomatoes, pap and salsa. They have an omeltte of the day as well make to order. Scrambled eggs can be plain or I had some great chive and goat cheese eggs this past weekend. I'd geneally avoided the bread sweets end of the buffet because I'd already fallen in love with the french toast and didn't want (not do my hips need) other bread items, however I've also fallen for the bran/orange muffins. Nephew loves the chocolate chip muffins. This time I tried what was clearly fresh mixed yogurt, mine had fresh strawberries and bananas added, not "stir fruit on bottom" kind of yogurt, excellent new find. I've generally eaten there after 10am and treated the meal like a brunch.

I strongly suggest you book Boma breakfast and dinner if staying at the lodge.

I also recommend Boma for both breakfast and dinner! Like the PP, I also enjoyed the made to order omelets, grilled tomatoes, and goat cheese and chive scrambled eggs. The pastries were great and they also had a stew, which seemed somewhat like a hot (temperature) salsa, which was great with the regular scrambled eggs. The juice they serve with breakfast is delicious and the coffee is actually decent. I went at the earliest seating (7:30), had a quiet, leisurely breakfast, and made it to rope drop at Epcot.

we did boma for breakfast and not just the food was brilliant but being at AKL on a beautiful sunny morning is lovely I would love to stay there

I have to say Boma has an amazing breakfast because they combine tradition breakfast food but do put an African twist on it. Try teh juice it is sweet and amazing! I also was a huge fan of the scrambled eggs with goat cheese and chives. Also they have really good think sausage links...mummm pork!DH really liked this hash that had alot of savory flavors and topped with eggs he was in heaven. But teh ebst was the mini chocolate chip croissants, I think I ate liek 3 or 4:goodvibes. My DH was so impressed with the breakfaat we went agian teh next morning, and that is saying alot because my DH does not liek breakfast food. Try it you will like it!

When we went June 2009, we were on DxDDP. We did Boma, Tusker, and Chef Mickey's for breakfast. By far, Boma was the best.

They had the most variety of food. Something so simple as fruit. They have several different bowls of individual fruit, not a mixed salad, so you can get what you want. Canteloupe, Strawberries, Honeydew, Watermelon, etc etc. And it was very fresh.

I detailed our visit in this review:

HTH!

We did probably 1/2 our breakfasts there last Aug when we stayed at AKL. Was the perfect way to start the day. DW loved the goat cheese and chive eggs, even our fussy 5 y old daughter "if it isn't breaded and deep fried it isn't food" loved the choices. The only thing I never saw was Mickey waffles (go to Mara if you want them).

We are staying at WL this summer for a change, we are going to miss Boma for breakfast (have a dinner ressie however). Also going to miss the pool.

Boma for breakfast or dinner is great. The main word being selection. amazing selection and variety. Enjoy your meal.:cool1::banana:

I have a question. I have a very bad obsession with the zebra domes:worship:, do they serve them at Breakfast as well as dinner?

If you like hot tea be sure to order the great African tea if they still have it. I'm a tea drinker and really enjoyed it.

thanks again for the info. I did make and adr for breakfast there and I am very excited for it. We also have a dinner for the night we arrive, but I am afraid we will feel rushed so I am rethinking that one for maybe another night. Now that I think about it, that's probably a question for another thread!!
I should be giving you all TA fees!

I am a picky eater, but because of all the great info. on this thread, I have decided to book breakfast at Boma. Now all I have to choose is which day/time would be best. :)

We went to Boma on our last trip, and the 4 of us range from a little bit picky to extremely picky, and we all loved it. They have a nice variety of breakfast foods that include everything from the tried and true breakfast favorites to some more adventurous selections. Personally, I loved the raisin french toast and the mini-muffins and pastries! Mmmmm.

When my family went in February, I treated us to breakfast at Boma and we all thought it was wonderful! My parents and sister had eaten there for dinner before. I terms of the traditional African foods they have, my dad has been to Malawi and found the African food to be extremely authentic both at breakfast and dinner.

And lest anyone balk at "goat cheese" in those scrambled eggs, they really are delicious. To elaborate... I am so not an egg girl. I've usually only had a little bit on Christmas morning with our traditional Christmas breakfast. I had two big servings of the scrambled eggs with goat cheese and chives. YUM!!!

Highly recommended.

I guess I'm in the minority in that I was underwhelmed and not impressed. The best part of our meal was the frunch juice. Would I eat there again? No. Will I order the juice to go? Yep!

We prefer breakfast to dinner at Boma. Scrambled eggs with goat cheese and chive; hot cereal like grits (I don't know the name); mini-blueberry muffins; frunch. A must-do for us.
