Anyone have any info on Boise? My husband is an IT consultant and possibly will have 6-12 month assignment there.

I live 2 hrs north of Boise. It's a really nice city that is growing steadily. It would be a great place to live in during that time. Let me know of any other questions.

I just found out today that it is approximately 7.5 hours away from Mammoth Hot Springs, WY. Why do I know that, you aks? Because I was trying to find the best route from WNY to Yellowstone Nat'l Park and Southwest flies into Boise. Then I Mapquested Boise to Mammoth Hot Springs. There ya go!

Other than that, there is no easy route. Nor cheap route either. 30 hours drive from WNY!

zakatak-look into flying NW into Billings MT-the drive to the nearest entrance to YNP is about 3 hours from there. Does Southwest Fly to SLC (they don't come to denver so I am not familiar with them)? it is also closer than Boise. You can also fly to Jackson or Cody Wyoming via either SLC or DENVER-not cheap but not super pricing-best option for that is Delta to SLC and then Skywest to Cody-50 miles from east entrance.
Trip-Boise is very nice and most of Idaho is very nice in the summer!

edited to add-Mammoth is not the entrance to the park closest to Boise either-Both the south gate north of Flagg Ranch Wyoming and the West Gate at West Yellowstone MT are closer
