HI,
I'm going to WDW for my 50th BDay! I am wondering what would be better on that day. Be Our Guest restaurant or the California grill? I haven't been to either. Wishes starts at 10:00pm that night. I have reservations @ BOG at 9:00pm or CG at 9:30pm.

Thanks, :)

If you do BOG, you won't likely be done in time for Wishes unless you really rush your meal. Who wants to rush a big birthday dinner? Do CG instead. Happy Birthday.

If you want to see Wishes, do CG. If you're seeing them on another day & don't care about seeing them on your birthday, do BOG, which is a more unique restaurant.

Happy almost birthday!!!! Definitely go all out and enjoy CG for your birthday. BoG is no where in the same league as this gorgeous signature restaurant

With those times you are not going to see Wishes with either so definitely CG for the meal you deserve on your birthday.

Though I enjoy both restaurants, if you're looking for a Wishes view, go to CG. You won't see Wishes from BOG and the view from CG is really neat. Even if you aren't seated, you can still go out to the viewing area. They pipe in the music and the you'll get the full experience.

California Grill is not my favorite signature restaurant in WDW, but it is still a pretty good place. BOG, while the décor and theme of the restaurant is excellent, is not even in the same league as CG. The food is far, far superior than the average offerings at BOG. That and the atmosphere at CG is nothing less than awesome itself with an excellent view of Wishes. I say California Grille by a very, very wide margin.

Calafornia grill without a doubt
We did it last year and I think wishes was 10 pm we had a 9pm adr and desert was being served just as wishes started

DEFINITELY California Grill! It's a much nicer, better, more upscale restaurant than BOG. If you go to BOG you'll have to rush your meal, and even then there's no guarantee you'll finish with enough time to see Wishes.

A 9:30pm ADR at California Grill is the perfect time for an ADR to see Wishes at 10. You'll be seated and have time to order a drink, peruse the menu, order dinner, and go outside to see Wishes. Make sure you tell your waiter you don't want the food served until after you see the fireworks. We've never had an issue with this; they hold the appetizers until just as we are sitting down after the show. Who knows? Maybe you'll be lucky enough to get a window table and won't have to go outside to see Wishes (never hurts to mention it's your birthday to EVERYONE!!)

If you check in and there's a wait to be seated, order a drink at the bar. Make sure the maitre d' knows you'll be outside watching Wishes, in case your table is ready during the show. Don't worry... this is a signature restaurant and they do this every day! Everyone who makes an ADR during the fireworks wants to see the show, so you won't be the only ones!
