Another question:

I booked because we had the invite.

Can you book without it? If not, then I won't even mention it to my inlaws in case they somehow didn't get the invite.

I just booked Aug 2!!! This was the only day all week that would work... Wonder if it opens up 28 days out...

I just went on the website and got july 26th with no problems. I never recieved an email. It just asked for my reservation number for our trip.

You can usually book a couple of days before you receive the e-mail.

Is it just cool to eat in the restaurant or something else? Why is lunch a big deal? There are no characters at lunch, correct... I'm going in September so have probably 3 weeks before can book... Lol

It wouldn't be a big deal to me. But DS wanted to see the inside of the new castle that was part of the fantasy land expansion and see the new technology where they bring your counter service meal to you (track you my magic bands or a little rose object that they set on your table). And mom (me) was much more keen on doing this with counter service lunch prices versus table service dinner prices that weren't in my budget (offsite visitors not on DDP). Plus there wasn't any interest in meeting characters in our party. Those factors contributed to lunch there being a must do with just over an hour wait last October. lol

Yes, I have not received the invite but am able to access the special site in a daily effort to get a FP for lunch.

Now, going in q couple of weeks and trying to book for July 22 but that date is not available to book yet on the site. My booking window ends on July 12 and everything after that is greyed out. Does everyone have different options as to what dates are available? In other words, do I just need to keep checking back daily to see if my date is open for booking?

July 22 was probably all booked up last week when it became available. They are opening avail abilities on a day by day basis and today was August 1. There is a very lengthy thread you can subscribe to in the "Dining Reservations" forum that is updated daily.

Hum, ok. I thought maybe it just wasn't available yet for me since everything after july 12 was greyed out and not an option to select. I did pretend to book on july 12 and two windows were still open for booking, so maybe something will turn up for the 22nd.

If you have previously booked one in your name, try booking it using the account of somebody else in your party. A couple of people have reported that worked better for them.

The way the system is set up, you can only book a BOG FP for the first 7 days of your trip. So if you are arriving July 12th you only have access to the 12-18th.

Although now that I'm rereading your post it doesn't seem that that's your issue.

My trip starts on 8/20 and I'm hoping for a FP+ for lunch. I have a dinner reservation made, but I really DO NOT want to do dinner with a 4 year old boy and 2 year old boy who have ZERO interest in sitting for long periods of time. I would love to have lunch there and just pre-order our food, eat, look at the inside and then head back out to go on some rides.

I logged in under my husbands account and got a res. for July 22 at 11:30 for lunch. Only snag is that it has his name listed as both his name and mine...does that matter? I was still able to order 5 meals ahead which is the correct # of people in our party.

When I logged in under my account, that was the issue--only showing a certain number of days, around 7. When I logged in under my husband's account more dates for july were available.

I *think* if you hover over (do not click) online check in that it is the last 12 or so digits at the end of the URL. At least, that is the number that worked for me.

You have to be within 60 days of arrival.
