Quick question for those of you who may have eaten at BoG for both lunch and dinner: can you order the Grey Stuff during lunch? I have a lunch ADR there for our trip in August and was recently looking over the menus, and I see it listed as a dessert on the dinner menu, but not lunch. Can we ask for it or will it not be an option? I do see The Master's Cupcake on the lunch menu says it is topped with Grey Stuff, so that may be an option too. Honestly there isn't really any entree on the lunch menu that really sounds very good to us, and dinner prices may not work, so I am just thinking about switching to a dinner reservation, but just to grab dessert. The main reason I want to try the place is mainly to check out the inside and for the Grey Stuff anyway. :/

I believe it's just the cupcake. But you still get a good dollop of the grey stuff with it. If you're willing to take the time, you can definitely book a lunch reservation just for the cupcake (or two, just for good measure lol) then go get real food elsewhere before/after.

I have the same problem with the lunch options at BOG, but I will say that both times I did not leave unsatisfied. The Nicoise salad is decent, the vegetable quiche was pretty good, as is the roast beef (I had a couple bites from a friend's). I mean, no it's not worth the hype, but it's not bad.

Well I love cupcakes so I don't mind having one with the grey stuff lol! I just wanted to see if it would be enough to get a real taste of the stuff. Actually that may be better than just getting straight up grey stuff. I think I saw a pic somewhere though of the cute plate that it came on that had "The Grey Stuff" words on it and everything, and I thought that was neat. I do think I am liking the idea of just getting dessert there. Is it worth switching to dinner to meet The Beast?

It is indeed just the cupcake + grey stuff and it's delicious. The cupcake itself is really simple and nothing to write home about, but together with the grey stuff it works well. I think the grey stuff on its own would have been too much for me.
I've got a picture of it in my dining review (link in my signature) if you want to check it out. We had a great time and I'd probably stick with lunch in the future as well even though we didn't meet the Beast. :)

Thanks! I am still reading your whole review (and loving it!) but I just finished your BoG review. The cupcake looks so cute and yummy! I definitely want to try it out!

I'm not sure I believe any of this, and will have to ask the dishes.
:rotfl:

I believe the dinner offering is more brownie shaped with the grey stuff piped on top. Listed as The Grey Stuff, but description says chocolate sponge cake with the grey stuff. A few years back, it was rectangular in shape vs the traditional cupcake offered at lunch.

The Master's Cupcake is the chocolate sponge cake topped with the grey stuff.

"The Grey Stuff" dessert at dinner is a hard rectangular-shaped chocolate cookie/cracker thingy topped with the grey stuff.

The grey stuff is nothing more than cool whip and Oreo's blended together.

I preferred the cupcake at lunch to the cookie-type dessert at dinner. Here are pictures I took of both during our last visit:

There is plenty of grey stuff on the cupcake for you to be able to taste it. It's piled pretty high. Ours was also filled with it. I'm not sure I would base a dinner adr around it. It's very good but not life changing.

Lunch Master Cupcake is a basic cupcake but plenty of Grey Stuff on it if that is what you want to try. It's a pretty cupcake and much nicer visually than dinner dessert.

Dinner Grey Stuff comes like photo above, those with it all spelled out were the early days. There is lots of Grey Stuff but the "cookie" is hard as a rock. I had to try to bust it up with my spoon but finally gave up since my teeth didn't enjoy the battle. So I left more than half the cookie.

If you are not wowed by menus and just want the Grey Stuff, just go to any meal and order only the Grey Stuff. You can do that at all three meals now.

And yes it is like cool whip with a slight oreo taste. If you ever had the chocolate cool whip they used to have similar to that.

according to the menu online the cupcake is now available for breakfast. So i would consider that option it that is all you want.

The grey stuff is the same, only the vehicle is different. The cupcake with the grey stuff (lunch) is better than the hard as a rock brownie cracker with the grey stuff (dinner).

We ate at BOG for lunch last November and I tried the greystuff cupcake. It was okay. Nothing to brag about, for me. It tasted like cool whip with some oreo taste, but not a lot of taste at all. I won't order it again, but had to try it due to all the hype about it. Not worth it to me.

I really liked the dinner version. I have not tried the cupcake. To answer your question tho, no you cannot get the dinner version at lunch.

Completely agree. This is one of those "I've tried the grey stuff." Box checked. Unless on DP, no more.

I have tried every single one of the desserts at BOG, highly disappointing. So much potential ...
