BoG Breakfast Prices ???????

I am very curious about Sci Fi. We are willing to order 5 meals for breakfast there, but it will be painful paying over $100 for one breakfast.

We ate at both during our trip last week and all four of us (all adults) much preferred the Sci-Fi breakfast over BoG. The BoG food left us underwhelmed. At Sci-Fi they give you the pastry platter as well as a cup of fruit (or another option, but we all had fruit cups) along with your choice of meal.

No sharing is the case at table service restaurants that are fixed price. BoG at breakfast is quick service. they don't control the sharing.

Now if you went to Sci Fi, you probably wouldn't be able to share.

I don't normally question you, as you are usually correct, but are you sure about this one? It seems to me you can order the Prix Fix at Chefs and share it between two people. You can't make any substitutions, but you can share it.

Chefs has one prix fixe item. I'm talking about restaurants that charge all diners the same amount per person, and not per item ordered. Sci Fi for breakfast is all one price per person and it's a TS restaurant, so I'm guessing if you are there, you will pay for the meal.

KristinU, do you have any idea if sharing is allowed? Thanks for the info.

I feel like it would have been OK at BoG, but I wouldn't have been comfortable with it at Sci-Fi. Admittedly, though. we didn't try or ask. I will say that the portions at BoG aren't really share sized, and that's coming from a not terribly huge eater.

We usually skip breakfast altogether, so it will definitely be enough for us. I don't feel so bad for the Sci fi breakfast. We'll eat at 8, and then no meal until Beirgarten at 4 with the CPP. We'll probably have cupcakes from Starring Rolls mid day.

Sci-Fi is a prix fixe, AYCTE meal. If you eat up an entree and want another, they will bring it without charging you another fee.
This is different than the Chefs prix fix, where they don't keep toting stuff out.

We ate at BOG for breakfast last Tuesday. I was glad we were on the QSDP because I would balk at paying $22 for the tiny portion of allergy waffles I got served. Mum enjoyed her meal and the pastries were good. And it was a lovely restaurant!

I was so bummed we couldn't get a dinner reservation for our trip in January that we just booked.

We have eaten there before and while I wasn't OVERLY impressed with the dinner, my mom will be with us and I know she would like to see in the castle.

So imagine my joy when I saw all the breakfast times pop up!! And then I looked at the menu!! Lol, we already have bread last at CRT, there is no way we are doing BoG breakfast lol! Those prices are ridiculous!

my family of 5 shared 1 meal at bog last week at a ppo. we're not breakfast eaters, so we all had plenty to taste and brought our own drinks and gave my son the choc milk we ordered. the cast member who checked us out seemed not happy with our choice to share, but thats ok. we saw the beautiful rooms, got our pics in front of the castle for the first time and rode mine train 3 times before park opened. it was a lovely morning and i would do it again.

Please hear this first part: I am really, really glad you're family got to do this. In fact, if we had a trip planned, my family of 4 would probably do the same thing.

However, if this becomes a trend that Disney can easily see, I expect the ability to share will go away. I could be wrong, and they could care less, but my assumption is they plan food quantities for the number of reservations they have. Now I know some people pre-order, and that gives them a more accurate count, but there are many, many who do not pre-order and they have to plan for the ADRs they have. That means there has to be some waste going on. The price point may be covering some of that, but I wonder how much will be too much for Disney.

FWIW, we got an ADR pre-opening. Food was good (I had the sandwich with brie, DH had the meat/cheese, kid 1 had the french toast thing, kid 2 had the kids meal). The atmosphere kinda blew.

BUT!!! We got out of there at park opening and beat the crowds to 7DMT. Got on the first ride of the day, and were so far ahead of the masses that we had the park "done" within like 3 hours. So, it that respect, it was so stinking worth every cent I paid. Like paying to have the park to ourselves, or just us and a few friends.

I would gladly pay the money again to have the same experience!

I love the pre-opening ADRs. We ate at BOG for breakfast this past August. My 12-year-old daughter ordered the eggs florentine and really liked it. I had the egg and bacon sandwich. It was good but lukewarm. At that time, breakfast was 19.99 (we didn't order any kids meals, so I don't know what those prices were). I agree it's pricy and I wasn't thrilled about the $2 increase. But like the PP, we loved being in the park early. We have an ADR for 8 on our next trip and I'm hoping we can get to the mine train early (and hoping the littlest one is tall enough to ride this time).

We shared at BOG. I honestly don't think they care. My toddler is tiny and I knew there was no way she'd eat a whole meal. We ordered two adult meals and let her have my older daughter's ham and some of the bread.

Agree. Restaurants budget, order, and schedule based on reservations. If it happens a lot....3, 4, 5 or more people making a reservation and ordering 1 meal can have a serious negative affect on all 3. Now, I don't know what the ratio of people who do this actually is, but if this board is any indication, it's at least somewhat prevalent. It's just according to how long Disney agrees to allow it.

They decided that they cared at Grand Floridian's tea. Raised prices, you have to order a set group of things for each person, and the quality absolutely tanked. Oh and they got rid of the good china that was so pretty.

So beware, BOG breakfast-sharers...

Gonna do it, but, it seems very expensive. Want to walk through the park with very few people there : )

I rather do a quick serve at my resort and get mickey waffles then pay that.

DH and I ate there this past Sunday. We shared the open faced bacon and poached egg sandwich. With the pastry plate it was more than enough food for us at 8AM. To us, the price was well worth it for the perk of early entry to the park and access to SDMT before rope drop crowds. Tip - go further up Main Street closer to the stage area to take castle pictures, we got a beautiful shot with nobody behind us.

Went to BoG for breakfast last Saturday, BIG waste of money. It was cool to walk through MK with no one around, but, big deal, not worth the breakfast prices. And since the park opened at 8am, we didnt get the advantage of Dwarf Mine, line was too long by then.
