BoG Breakfast Prices ???????

We ent yesterday and shared the bacon and egg sandwich. There was more than enough for my daughter and I to share especially with the fruit and the pastry platter. We couldn't eat it all. We did not order a second drink but I drink water usually anyway and they had no issue with me asking for a cup for my water. For the amount of food I don't think it's a bad deal.

At Be Our Guest breakfast, you are paying for some combination of the following:
  • Scarcity: Limited breakfast options in MK
  • Access: PPO access to the park (depending on ADR time)
  • Popularity: They can book up BOG at this price, so they charge what the market will bear
BOG is plated QS and not AYCTE, so they are not enforcing any sort of "no sharing!" rules. Sci-Fi is plated, but AYCTE, so there is no sharing. Several other Prix Fixe meals at various venues are plated Prix Fixe, so they're okay with sharing.

The big thing tends to be if something is AYCTE or not. If something is AYCTE, no sharing will be enforced. If something is Prix Fixe but not AYCTE, there's nothing to enforce for sharing.

Went to BoG for breakfast last Saturday, BIG waste of money. It was cool to walk through MK with no one around, but, big deal, not worth the breakfast prices. And since the park opened at 8am, we didnt get the advantage of Dwarf Mine, line was too long by then.

There is a lot to consider when booking this meal.

It is important to determine if you are in fact going to benefit from an early ADR. If the park opens at 8 and your ADR is at 8, I would cancel in a heartbeat. That hour you lose has a value, and it adds tot eh cost of the meal, IMO.

Why are you booking the meal? Is it because you want to eat breakfast, gain early access to the park, or do you want to see the Castle? If you want any of these "perks" the mea has a value. Perhaps you need to split a meal in order to maximize the value, but it is there. The question is what is that worth to you?

In general, park meals are expensive, and so before booking them, I think you have to think them through. In your case I would have canceled this on in a heartbeat. I would never give up that first hour of park time, even if the meal was free. I think you gained nothing but a meal you were not happy with by keeping the ADR.

It's a good meal in a beautiful, one-of-a-kind Disney themed restaurant, deep in the Magic Kingdom, and an early reservation on a day the park opens at 9am gets you past the rope drop crowd, quietly into MK, fed, and on Seven Dwarfs Mine Train before any of the crowd outside can even reach Cinderella's Castle. Does $22 still sound outrageously overpriced?

That's the thing. We always try to book one pre park opening breakfast and depending on our plans choose CP or BOG. Lately BOG is our choice because since we generally are on the DDP we do not count cost and it is a CS credit, not a TS credit. We all order our own meal and it holds us til we decide to have a lunch. I would never choose any breakfast that coincided with a park opening time though, and I believe that is why the OP has buyers remorse. She paid full prices for absolutely nothing more than food, and lost a great deal of valuable early morning park time.

Many times dining in Disney is really more than eating. It is why I cannot totally wing it, we use meals for a lot more than just food/

I agree. I have several pre-park breakfasts booked but I'm watching opening times carefully. You can bet that if the opening shifts to the same time as breakfast we'll be cancelling the breakfast and working out something else.

If you are sharing, can you do any pre-ordering at all? Or skip pre-ordering altogether?

Reading this thread, I feel like DH and I must be the only people in the world who don't even consider trying to make rope drop or pre-rd ADR. It takes us at least an hour to get ready in the morning, about an hour to get to the park even if driving from onsite, including the walk to the castle (I'm slow and use a cane) and you need to build in a little just in case time, so we'd need to get up between 5:30 and 6 am - on vacation? no thanks. I fully understand the appeal of an empty MK and being able to do so much in the early hours. But, we've been to the park so many times that we don't feel we need to go on all the rides and FP+ helps us to get on what we really want to. These days we enjoy WDW at a relaxing pace - of course we go at a slower time as well.

So, I was happy to make a 9:15 am ADR at BOG for our trip next month, but I changed it to 9:45 am so we wouldn't be rushed :rotfl: The price is high, but so are most WDW restaurants. The menu appeals to me, seems like you get a lot and I love dining in the Beast's Castle. So, worth it to us, without the early morning benefits.
