BOG breakfast - no drink now included?

I read on the DIS facebook page link to an article that BOG breakfast doesn't include a drink now (it was the article about nickle and diming guests).

Really? A counter service breakfast that is $24. And, it's mediocre (I've shared with my DD twice, as I really can't stomach breakfast and rides, but we were on free QSDP so I would have totally eaten but couldn't). So for a couple dollars more, you could do a character meal? Not that we're into that anyway.

I did enjoy our meals at BOG, but is it true as the DIS reports or not?

TIA

That was what I thought, as I've been twice! But I read on a recent DIS article that changed.

And, what is this "Be Our Guest Cup" that's $5 now? Soft drink is still listed as $3 and change, and the goblet is still listed, so maybe they have another little souvenir cup added.

yes drink not included. Why so expensive? Because people are willing to pay that.
Yes there is a new cup..5 at breakfast or $8 the other meals!!

**sigh** I am second guessing this breakfast ADR that we have. I really can't justify spending around 100 bucks for the four of us to have eggs and bacon (no, we are not sharers . . . ) just to see this castle.

.lunch is a better value if you just want to see the castle but if you want the early entry and that's equally important but you don't want to spend the money then don't eat your whole breakfast there. Do a progressive meal...order something to share and then each order a cupcake or one of those $5 cups something like that then go afterwards and have a cinnamon roll at Gastons, or another counter service. later. Not every member of the party has to order something at BOG

We will be on the DDP. Will a drink still be included with that?
The dining plans are completely different than this out of pocket discussion thread .You get exactly what the plans says. if it says a counter-service meal comes with a drink then it does. Just consult your plan literature and it'll tell you exactly what's included

So when we do the Pre-order for the BOG breakfast, I can just put 4 cupcakes and coffee???? That would be perfect! I guess I was just assuming we would have to pick one of the breakfasts. I know people have said that the cupcakes are leftovers from the night before, but that is perfectly okay!

Are you certain that a drink is NOT included? Have you been recently and had that experience?

I ask because the DIS restaurant guru said this upthread:

1) Prix Fixe breakfast (8:00-10:00 am) includes self-service breakfast beverages.

That means the coffee and soda stations ARE included for those who order the full breakfast plate.

1) Nope.
2) But, a lot of others do . . . whether by cash (OOP) or DDP credits.
. . . Disney loves it when people spend DDP credits without realizing the value or loss of value
. . . Disney has so many people convinced that DDP is valuable, the people spend without thought
. . . This is the same theory as Las Vegas gambling chips, or room-charge only on a cruise ship
. . . If you spend chips (in this case DDP Credits), people don't recognize or think about the cost.
. . . If you spend cash, people might think twice about the bet (or food price at WDW).
3) And, this is what WDW is counting upon, and it is working pretty darn well !

^^Yes - this is why we don't do DDP or have never opted for the free (but not really coz you have to pay rack rate for your room) dining. But I will be psyched if we can just do the cupcake and coffee scenario! I have FPs for the Dwarf train and then this ADR follows, so it will be fun to just go in and grab a cupcake before we continue with our MK morning.

YES you can! Enjoy your cupcakes and coffee.
