BOG Breakfast-How Many Trips Through The Mine?

I have a pre-park open reservation at crystal palace 8:35, 3 days later I have a reservation at 9:10. What's the process for entering early, is there a specific 7:45-?? entry window, if you show up 10 minutes before open are you going to be stuck in the rope drop crowd? Do they scan magic bands to verify reservations?

For a pre-opening 8am ADR, I was checked against a printout (how quaint) and with a Magic Band scan before queuing into the pre-opening ADR line.

I don't have experience with a post-opening ADR. I would guess you wouldn't be admitted early as all guests are admitted into MK around 8:45-8:50 for a 9am opening.

That helps! Good to know about the Pre-Opening ADR line. We've got 12 people across 3 reservations and haven't been able to properly assign all users to each meal. It wants to duplicate the reservation "owner(me)" in each. Net of that is, someone in our party won't have the reservations applied to their MDEx and I'm guessing their Magic Band won't show a reservation for them.

We got a solid three rides in after our 8:05 am ADR this morning. Many of the cars were empty. When we came out after ride #3, it was 8:55 and the line was as far as the eye could see! It happened so quickly...the RD people come in one massive group. We then headed over and got three back to back rides in at Splash Mountain and a relatively short wait at BTMR.

All in all, I would say a super successful morning. My first BOG meal (dinner) was one of the worst meals I've ever had a WDW, but the breakfast was very good and ran very efficiently. I would highly recommend pre-ordering though. This will definitely be a "do again" in our book!

Now that's the way to start a MK day!!!!:)

Thanks for the update!:)

Looks like business as usual continues with BOG/SDMT.:)

I'll report back after my trip in November if I can get an early morning reservation!

At the holding point, how crazy is it? Does everyone queue up orderly and walk over calmly with a CM. Or is it a mass of people trying to converge to get in line?

Thanks!

The holding point for BoG to Dwarves? Or the holding point and then mass influx of Rope Droppers? If you wanted to know about the holding point for the BoG'ers, it seems to be pretty calm (we rode twice and there was not a holding point, we just walked slowly and went in the FP entrance). The way I've read others' experience is that it can be a very short line of people calmly waiting.

Now, the Rope Drop crowd is a different matter, it's a mad rush.

Ditto. In June there was no holding point, but the ride was also going when we walked out of BOG. It would make sense that they form a line if the ride hasn't gone online yet when people are finished with breakfast. Even the "lines" I've seen pictures of have at most 20 people in them. Starting from BOG is the polar opposite of the RD situation, which makes it so ideal, especially if walking purposefully up Main Street while jockeying for position in a crowd isn't something you enjoy doing. Having now experienced that, even without being able to ride 7DMT, that would make an early ADR at any restaurant worth it.

Completely agree. We have a pre-opening ADR for CP in September, and I have no anticipation of riding Dwarves before RD, but really enjoyed the leisurely walk down Main Street, and I have to add that the CM's we encountered that morning were at least professional, and most seemed happy and excited to interact with us all so early.

We rode twice in a row after our 8:05 reservation at BOG. It was awesome. However, after the 2nd ride the line was formed but we were able to ride other rides with minimal waits since so many people had rushed to 7DMT

We have an 8:10 am reservation this Saturday. When I booked it, the park hours were posted as opening at 9am. It now says 8am opening. What time should we plan on being there for? 7:30?

*Edit - I have no intention of trying to ride 7DMT. I just want to make it on time for our reservation and not get trampled by the heard of people rushing towards the ride.

Yes, sorry BOG to Dwarves. Thanks for your reply! I can't deal with hoards of people rushing, which is why I'm avoiding are avoiding rope drop :)

Absolutely no rush on our visit on 08/07. Just leisurely walked over, rode three times with no rush. Everyone riding was happy and polite...a very magical moment. Once the RD crowd arrived...move on to another part of the park you wish to ride and see...

The "line" of BOG Guests waiting for SDMT during my last trip.:)

Haha, that's awesome. Do they have a similar line like this that walks you to Anna and Elsa as that's the other super popular early attraction?

Yes,SDMT and A&E are the 2 attractions that BOG Guests can line up for-Pooh,Pan,etc. are outside the "containment zone".:)

We had an 8am BOG reservation on Monday (9 am park opening). We were done by 8:30 am and held on the side of 7DMT until exactly 9am. We were then led into the FP line (if you had a breakfast reservation). The ride ended up being down, so no rides for us.
