I am going down to Boca Raton for a book signing event during the FASA conference on July 22 and July 23 at the Boca Raton Resort & Club. I've already made reservations for this resort but was wondering if anyone here has stayed there? If so, which of the restaurants did you dine in and what were the rooms like? Everything looks great on the website but I'd like some first-hand opinions.

Thanks.

David

David,
I can't help you but I wanted to say Congatulations on the book signing!

My DH use to Valet there Part Time. He said it was really nice. :thumbsup2

My DH and I were there for a conference through his work a few months ago. REALLY NICE place, but very pricey!! We stayed on the grounds most of the time, and all meals were catered at different sections of the resort---great food. We didn't eat at any restaurants off the resort, so I can't comment on those. The rooms were nice, seemed a bit small for the price, but were nicely decorated. Neat crown molding in the room gave it an old feel.
There are two sides to the resort, the Beach side and the main hotel. If your room isn't on the beach side (our's wasn't) you have to take a boat or shuttle to the beach. That was a little weird for us, but it was a quick boat trip over.
Really pretty resort, lots of places to just sit and take in the scenery, but like I said PRICEY!!! We ordered 2 drinks at the pool one day and it was $30. $15 for a mixed drink was a shocker for a girl from Tennessee!! We could have never stayed there if DH's company wasn't footing the bill.
Have a great time!!

I'm sure there's not a bad restaurant at the place. I lived in Boca 15 years and worked at a local hospital. Of course, all the docs had memberships there. If docs go, it's a very nice place.

Love the pool area. Darling son had his swim lessons there as a toddler with the "Diaper Dolphins." LOL! :teeth:

I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time! :thumbsup2

We were there last Sept for a conference. OMG it was pure bliss. We stayed in the main hotel and we had a really big room. All our meals were included and we ate twice at the steak place and it was wonderful. We also had the breakfast buffet in the main hotel and that too was great. The spa was unbeliveable. What was really great was the rain massage. You also get access to a private pool with any spa service.

A short drive from the hotel are good restaurants also.

The Addison

The Bridge...on the top floor of a different hotel which overlooks the Intracoastal Waterway

Some French restaurant on the south side of Palmetto Park Road not far from the bridge to A1A. The name of it escapes me.

You will like the club, try to get a room in the tower which has great ocean views. There are a TON of restuarants in the area, Mizner Park is very close and has an ampitheater (see if there are any concerts, Ringo Starr is coming soon). Max's grill is wonderful, there are a lot of lovely boutiques there too. They have a nice spa there as well. Some of my family members belong to the club and live right across the street and as a young adult I spent some winter vacations there. The best is ordering a drink while sitting out on the beach in a lounge chair. HEAVEN! Enjoy your visit to Boca! Any questions please let me know! :cool1:

Aha! This is the French restaurant...

Never been to the Boca Raton Resort and Club but we live about 2 miles from it. I can see it from my neighborhood! Have a great stay. Like others have mentioned, the nearby Mizner Park has some nice restuarants to try, like Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. Here is the Mizner Park website: http://www.miznerpark.com/html/index.asp
