Does anybody use this? My sister wants the eyeliner for Christmas but it's 40 dollars! Is it worth it and if it is, does anybody know where I can get it slightly cheaper (or MUCH cheaper??)

I've never used it but have you tried Ebay?

I love bobbi brown cosmetics! instead of the eyeliner, I buy a darker shadow and use a liner brush that has been dampened with water. makes a really nice line.

when I first started buying bobbi brown that is what one of their artists recommended. its great, and the shadow's are only $20.

on the other hand if that is within your budget for her, and its something she really wants, I'd go ahead and get her what she wants.

She just said that it comes with an applicator brush and it's in a little "tub". I'm not sure which one she wants. I'm not against spending the money, but it seems that 40 dollars for eyeliner is a bit much for such a small gift.

A great brush is critical for any eyeliner application. The brush is more important than the gel!

yep, a good brush is key for most makeup application, and I have found BB brushes to be really good. one think I do is order online...she almost always has specials/gifts, free shipping if you register, and you get to choose a sample product or 2 or 3 (depending on what you order). right now she is giving a mini mascara with any order along with free shipping (enter code GIFT) along with a couple of samples. so you could give her the mascara and samples as a treat or keep them for yourself.

is the thing your sister wants this: with the little pots of eye shadows along with the eyeliner and mini brush? its cute but I wonder if it would be a better deal to get her the one eyeliner and a separate brush. it would be about $5 more, but way more of the liner (if that is what she really is looking for) and a better brush. http://www.bobbibrowncosmetics.com/...ATEGORY_ID=CATEGORY22753&PRODUCT_ID=PROD15047

then again, if she really really wants this, she may want it because she does want the eyeshadows, too, even though they are all pretty small.

My sister doesn't wear eye shadow, just the liner. I'm all for specials/gifts. Is the website the cheapest place to get it, or does Macy's sell it a bit cheaper?

Most likely it will be the same price everywhere, you have to have the brush, but once you have it dont ever have to buy again .

Qvc has it, but it is the same price.

Shoot, now I want it too !! LOL

same prices whether macy's or website, the only difference is on the website you tend to get little extras, like the mascaras and the samples. my macy's and nordstrom are hit or miss whether they give out samples, and its usually what they choose for you, whereas online you get to choose.

if she doesn't wear shadow, I wouldn't get her the palatte because its 2 tiny shadows and a tiny liner.

I suppose if you are looking to save money, you could always get her a cheaper brush from a drugstore (assuming they have the same style brush) and she could get herself the pricier one if she really wants it. it sounds like its the actual liner that she wants, so the one for $20 would work out great for both of you!

Issue with cheaper brushes is sometimes they lose hairs and then it ruins the liner and will smear . I would go with what she asked for. Good makeup brushes are so worth it!

I agree a good brush is better, but if it isn't in the op's budget, was thinking she could get the liner and leave the brush to her sister to get. the cheap brush would at least make the gift useable, even if it would be better with the better brush.

You are all so helpful. Here's another question. Where did you go on the site to find the "extras" that you get? And is there a minimum to buy?

add what you want to your cart, then start the checkout procedure. it will walk you thru it and the samples will pop up then. I'm not sure if it matters that I have an acct, but go ahead and create one when asked. make sure to add the code, GIFT, when you get to that part.
