we are staying at POR in May. We had hoped to go to Boatwright's at least one night but most of the reviews that I have heard have not been very favorable. Any feedback!!!! Thanks Debi

We have been to Boatwrights 3 times for breakfast and loved it every time! We tried dinner once and didn't care for it :confused3 So in our limited experience with Boatwrights we would recommend concentrating on breakfast.

We ate at Boatwrights once for dinner, and sorry to say, we didn't care for it either. :sad2:

We ate at Boatwright's last June and I loved it! The Prime Rib I had melted in my mouth. DH did not care much for his Jumbalaya.(sp?) We had a late dinner and ended up being on of the last families to leave.

Its really going to depend on your tastes! My DS LOVES the Jambaliah (sp?) but he is very into spicey food and the amount of hotsauce he adds to it is frightening :scared1: We usually try to eat there at least once per trip. There are some dishes that we used to love that are gone, but we still enjoy it.

We love Boatwright's. I don't think we have ever had a bad meal there and we have had dinner there several times over the past couple of years. The service has been good as well even during the busy times. Once was Christmas day and we were never waiting for anything.

We're staying at POR and are curious about Boatwright's also.

So, for those who like it or don't, what meal did you have? I love specific recommendations :)

I can't comment on Boatwright's even though we have stayed at POR because we never got a chance to eat there but plan to in June. Y'all made me giggle with wondering about spelling jambalaya - trust me, we spell things a little strangely in Cajun country. :teeth:

We stayed at POR for 9 days over Christmas. We ate breakfast there about 5 times, and it was great! Husband loved the steak and eggs. I had to have my biscuits and gravy, and the kids loved the Mickey pancake! We had dinner there once and it was very good. We all loved the Garlic cheese bites appetizer, you must try those! The prime rib was very good, the pot roast was good, not great and all the kids were very happy with there kids meals.

Have stayed at POR a few times. Only have eaten breakfast at Boatwrights. Pretty good. Pancakes with a meat. Also a Combo meal of eggs, meat, potatoes and 2 biscuits. Its filling!

Never eaten breakfast there, but will this coming trip. But we have eaten dinner there. Dh had the jambalaya and said it was okay but not very spicey. My prime rib was very good. I think they tend to under season for the majority of people that go. We would eat there again.

The Jambalaya may start out fairly mild (probably too avoid people complaining its too spicy!) but they put hot sauce on the table and you can make it as wild as you want....

We also had dinner there, and we enjoyed it!

We've eaten at Boatwright's many times and always had good meals.

My husband and boys especially like the breakfasts that are served.

The dinner selections while limited have been very good. The ribs are my favorite. They are very tender and the sauce is mild and sweet. I also like the prime rib. It has always been fork tender and nicely seasoned with crushed garlic, salt, pepper and maybe a hint of onion powder.

My husband usually has a seafood dish and the boys like the pot roast and the strip steaks.

We had dinner there last November - mainly out of convenience. The Jambalaya was not the greatest thing I had ever eaten but it was OK. Overall, I think Boatwright's is fine if you are hungry and don't won't to leave POR. But for the money, there are so many better places to eat.

Me and my husband had dinner there on our last trip. I didn't care for it.

We decided to give the restaurant one more try for breakfast (mostly for convenience cause we were at pofq).

Breakfast was delicious. I had sweet potato pancakes and they were to best thing ever! They come with pecans (but they are mixed in with the syrup) which is good because I'm allergic to nuts but really wanted the pancakes. I have mine plain with butter and they were full of flavor. Also, they had fresh strawberries and cream. Very simple but also very good.
