Has anyone ever eaten here? If so, how was the food, service, atmosphere?

I found the menu and it all appears to be food that DH will like but I want some personal reviews before I try to get a PS for it.

Thanks

Jennifer

We've tried both breakfast and dinner and found that we like breakfast much more. On a day when the food court was packed and had long lines, we walked right into an almost empty Boatwrights. The service was good and the food excellent. I loved the Cresent City Toast! We would definately do breakfast here again. Dinner on the other hand we probably won't be back for. There are too many other places that have a better selection.

Boyfriend and I absolutely loved Boatwrights. We stayed at POR in September 2003 and the food there still comes up in conversation now - especially seeing as though we are now planning our 2005 trip to AKL. It goes without saying that we will eat here again :goodvibes

The atmosphere was a little quiet but we were there in September and that suited us. No need to make PS's, we just turned up and no wait which was fantastic, but it would definitely be worth making PS's if you are going in the busy times. :Pinkbounc

I do agree with Molly213 while the food is good, there are equally as good restaurants out there - may be even better, but it is worth a visit

Enjoy, your DH will love it! :sunny:

Unfortunately this is the only Disney restaurant that I have tried which I won't ever be back to again. But please don't just take my word for it. There are great and horrible reviews of all restaurants. In fact you might even hate some of my favorites. That being said....we ate there for breakfast one morning. Had no trouble being seated, put in our order and waited and waited. Finally hard, not very good, food arrived (as though it had sat under the heat lamps for a long time) and then we never saw our waitress again. She never came to ask how things were or refill our glasses. We waited a full 20 minutes after we had finished eating (we were discussing plans for the day) before finally flagging down another server to ask if we could please have our check. Like I said though, my visit may not have been the norm there, so please don't hesitate to try it on my advice. I just know that there are soooo many other great restaurants at WDW with wonderful food and service that we will not be wasting time or money by giving Boatwright's a second chance.

Of course that all being said I LOVE POR! :sunny:

I was afraid I was not gonna get good reviews on this on. Everything I had found on the internet thus far has not been good at all. The menu just looked :) "DH friendly" :) ...So much for picky eaters..LOL

I am trying to finalize my selections for when I call for my PS's ..I guess I will keep looking..

Any suggestions would be helpful from ANYONE!!! This is our first trip so I have no clue about any of these places!!

Thanks

Jennifer

We love Boatwrights and have never had a bad meal there. Our last time was on Christmas and the service was wonderful. We usually try something new each time and the meals have been great. We have only had dinners there so we can't comment on the breakfast fare.

we have eaten there for breakfast...had the stuffed french toast....it was AMAZING

Went there recently for dinner. This has always been one of our favorites. Have to say the food was not too good. The Prime Rib was too fatty and the other entrees were just ok. Our server was wonderful and we did give her a little extra.

Breakfast is good though.

We ate there for dinner 2X on our last trip in October of 2004. The food was very good. I had the roasted chicken over rice. Very very good. My DH and BIL both had the steak. They were very happy. I don't remember the desert there. I am big desert fanatic. So, I was either really full or they weren't anything to write home about.

I would definately recommend the Portabella Yacht Club in Downtown Disney. The food was fantastic. The deserts were to die for!!!

Good Luck.

We had breakfast here one morning. Food was pretty good - average type breakfast. Service was S-L-O-W. As a previous poster mentioned, after receiving our food (which was about average wait time), we never saw the server again, not to refill our beverages, nothing. After waiting about 20 minutes after finishing, we had to flag down another server to get our check also.

I'm not in a hurry to return, but if I were staying there at POFQ or POR, I'd probably go, I just would not go out of my way to go.

We've ate there twice and they were both pretty good. The service was very nice but the food was just ok. The place was VERY quiet, hardly anybody there. It's a nice place to go but I think there are better places to eat at Disney.
