I had dinner this evening at Boatwright's, at Disney Port Orleans - Riverside. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised. :thumbsup2 I had the;

Grilled Pork Chop, with Amber Ale Barbecue Sauce, Cheesy Grits and Onion Rings

This was my first experience with cheesy grits, and YUM!! I'm also not a huge fan of BBQ, but the BBQ sauce was wonderful. AND, dinner is served with complementary corn bread, fabulous. :thumbsup2 For me, it was a diamond in the rough, I was expecting mediocre food and Boatwright's exceeded my expectations.

I'm sorry, I should have taken a picture, I just wasn't expecting it to be sooo good!

Good to hear. We will be there in a few weeks and I was planning on the pork chop. Can you get the sauce on the side? JIC. I am very picky. Is the prime rib still on the menu. DH had that a few years ago and was looking forward to it again.

We agreed when we visited the restaurant last year. My fiancé had the pork chop as well and was really impressed. We've made it a point to make reservations again for this year. Granted, our expectations weren't as high for Boatwright's, but we thought it was a standout meal in a week that also included dinners at Citricos, Il Mulino, and my personal favorite Jiko.

We love Boatwright's. We ate there 2xs last trip. I love the tenderloin medallions with their special mac & cheese! Yum! Top it off with a piece of pecan pie....wow I'm ready to go now!

Love Boatwright's. Had dinner last yeat with my wife and father-in-law. Everyone was pleased, and we had exceptional service. I have another reservation in October!

DH might like the tenderloin too. What makes the mac n cheese 'special'?

Sorry to hijack this thread, but can you walk up to Boatwrights or do you have to have a ressie?? Does anyone know? We will be there in 7 days are are cancelling our WCC ressie due to the menu change. I would like to take the opportunity to not be tied to a ressie at least one night, but would still like a place to eat, if we got the urge. We are staying at POFQ and it would just be easier to walk over. Especially since this is on our resort day :)

Yes, I saw Prime Rib on the menu. :thumbsup2 And I'm not sure on the sauce, but Disney is very accommodating, I would be very, very surprised if they refused to put the sauce on the side.

Yes, please tell. :goodvibes

We had excellent service and an excellent meal, it must still be on the DL because I don't typically hear anyone raving about it. Or maybe I just haven't been paying attention, but I will defiantly be going back!

When we were there last October, we walked up. We waited maybe 15 or 20 minutes to be seated, but the place wasn't so packed that they were turning people away.

I was a walk up today and it was a Friday, raining and most of the parks closed early today, so the resort was very busy. We waited about 30 minutes, luckily it was worth the wait!

Good to know!! Awesome!! I really didn't want to make a reservation, because we want to at least try to see the movie at dusk with the marshmallow roast at POFQ! Do you know if they are doing that nightly even on the off season??

I believe so, but I may not be your best source of information for that one, sorry. :goodvibes

Great to know. I love reading good things about POFQ. We are staying there next June. Can't wait!

It's awesome! We've stayed at French Quarter more than all other Disney resorts combined. It's so easy to keep coming back to it.

We ate there when we stayed last October. Service was exceptional. My DD's bday and the server was so sweet....brought her out balloons. DH had the prime and I think the sauce was on the side as he is definitely NOT a sauce guy and he said the prime was AWESOME! I had the Jambalaya. The Bananas Foster were yummo and so was the creme Brulee. Bloody Mary's at the bar...killer! The pork chop did look good and was popular. We had ressies, but they had walk ins, they were busier as the night went on.

Thanks to all these great reviews, I will have to try Boatwright's next April :dance3:
