We will be staying at POFQ soon and was just wondering what people have thought about Boatwrights since I haven't seen one mention of it here on the review threads.

Hello,

My family and I stayed @ POR and we ate at Boatwrights, but we not happy with our meal. My wife had the jambalya and i had the prime rib and we were not pleased. The seasoning and presentation of the food were not what we expected given the price. We loved the food court, but never went back to Boatwrights. I hope this helps!

We ate there in May since we were staying at the POFQ it was so easy to get to and we were just so exhausted...it was the best meal ever! Tons of pics and full reviews in my May thread

We ate there a few years ago and it was a bad experience from the get go. They didn't want to seat us since it was late but still within the operating hours. The meals were less than good (I couldn't believe how bad the prime rib was) and the service was lacking. The staff didn't want us there and weren't shy about letting us know that.

We should have just eaten at the food court. We haven't been back.

Had dinner there for the first time in May 2011. Only reason we chose it was convenience, but found the meal itself to be pretty good. I am not a Cajun/Creole spice fan so I was pretty hesitant, but really enjoyed the beef medallions with "grown-up" mac-n-cheese. DH IS a spice fan and liked his catfish fillet over rice.

Desserts were just meh. The bread pudding was too bland, although the rum raisin ice cream with it was good. I'd suggest asking them to put some of that stuff with the pecan pie. DH loves angel food cake but, again, thought it was dry/bland.

Just be sure to stop in the lounge next door after dinner for Crazy Bob Jackson's show!

We ate there Oct. 2010 and I thought the food was good. It was definitely better than buffet quality and probably better than a few of the TS restaurants that we'd been to at the parks. They also serve you cornbread when you sit down. I love cornbread and had to make myself stop eating so I'd have room for my food. I think I had the grilled pork chop, and my DH had the grilled tenderloin medallions. The service was also really good.

The restaurant itself (decor etc) is nothing special really (even with the boat "bones") and a bit small.

We were full and the kids were getting restless, so we got our desserts and leftovers to go. We didn't eat much of the leftovers (except cornbread), but ate the dessert later, which was good. I got the chocolate cake. Don't remember what DH had. The kids all liked their food fine. We will be going again this year. :thumbsup2 It's relaxing to just walk over to the restaurant in your resort. If it were not at my resort, I wouldn't bother.

I ate there in February. The waitress was the most unhappy, rude, brash woman we came across in Disney. We were stunned. My mom and I both have food restrictions, and she was very annoyed to have to get the chef (who was very kind, but the only one who wasn't readily eager to help out with an allergy).

Our food was okay--nothing to write home about. Definitely the poorest tasting meal we had.

We ordered drinks because we were on the dining plan. I don't drink alcohol, both because it makes me feel unwell and because I don't like to drink. I ordered a virgin cocktail and when it came back, I asked her, "I'm sorry, I don't remember - I did ask for a virgin one, right?" She rolled her eyes, nodded, and walked away.

Needless to say, it wasn't a great experience.

For the convenience of eating close by, you're better off snagging the boat to Downtown Disney and choosing something there.

We had dinner there in Jan 2010 and it was good. Not a place that I would go out of my way to eat at but if I was staying at POR again I definately would.

We ate there in July 2011 and really liked it. The gumbo and onion soup were yummy.

The medallions and mac n cheese was teh best we've had in a while.

The cornbread was the highlight of the meal.
