Boathouse without Reservations

Can anyone share experiences with getting a table at the Boathouse without a reservation? This would be between 3:30-5:30pm. It’s our arrival day and we aren’t sure what time we’ll get to DS, so we don’t want to make a reservation. We’re hoping that we can just walk up. Currently there are several reservations still open on MDE (it’s for this weekend).

If you arrive early, like before 6PM, you probably can get a table pretty easily. You can even probably still get an ADR after you arrive. I enjoyed the baked crab stuffed lobster.

You should be good, but I would suggest getting a reservation on Open Table just to be on the safe side. You won't get charged if you cancel it day of and have the ability to modify the time as well (presuming something is available).

We ate there in May without a reservation. It was around 5:30 and we just walked up and we were seated immediately.

Edit to add: There were 3 of us in our party.

Second the Open Table suggestion. No risk in making that reservation.

Another vote for OpenTable. We never use MDE if a restaurant is on OpenTable.
