Boathouse recommendations

So we went to the Boathouse basically right after the parks reopened and we didn’t have the best food. I realize everything was a mess back then and I have never really heard any bad reviews. So we are going again on our next trip. I don’t want to have a steak as we will be having steal elsewhere on this trip. What would you recommend? I’m even up for just a few appetizers instead of an entree. Ideas?

I can't. If I wasn't eating Steak, I wouldn't go to the boathouse. Seafood I would recommend other places. Italian I would recommend other places, etc. If you really want to go to the Boathouse I would recommend a drink and app at the Dockside Bar out on their warff. Had a nice salsa and Pimento Cheese combination app that was perfect before we walked to Ragland for the rest of the evening. Not too heavy, and went well with the wife's wine and my beer.

Steak, I prefer the Boathouse over STK or any other place at DS. The ability they have with their broilers to fix a medium rare steak with a charred outside is great for my likes.

Thanks that’s actually a good idea to do some apps and a drink outside. I’m not always into having a full meal because so many places I want to eat!

Boathouse's Filet Mignon sliders are awesome to split with someone else as an appetizer. That might scratch the itch for steak while still having something else for your main entree.

Or order several apps to split... We've made a full meal of splitting the sliders and coconut shrimp, crab cake, etc.

We love the boathouse and have lots of favorites in our family including the burger, Mahi sandwich, shrimp andouille Mac and cheese, the club sandwich, coconut shrimp and their salads. Their fries are great too. They also have great cocktails. Have fun and I hope you have a better experience the second time around.

I always get the steak and lobster tail add-on there, as it's the best thing for me on the menu. My wife enjoys the salmon and grouper. I would not recommend the Oscar.
