Hi all

I was taking a quick look at the Boathouse menu, ahead of our trip in August, partially because it gets such stellar reviews from all and sundry, but as my daughter is a vegetarian, and my wife a pescetarian, I noticed that its non meat or fish offerings were really limited. Am I missing something here? For such a celebrated restaurant to basically just offer a couple of salads for veggies seems a little unimaginative.

I ate at the Boathouse with my family, and I'm vegan. They modified a pasta dish from the menu for me. It was really really good.

That's good to know, thanks, as I was ruling it out based on their published menu.

Actually, as a Vegan, do you have any particular recommendations for Disney restaurants that might be good for my girls?

The Boathouse is primarily a steakhouse run by the Gibson's group from Chicago - its name leads many to believe it's a seafood restaurant. That said, the salads and seafood we have tried there were all excellent, and they have always been very accommodating.

I suggest looking at the website Vegan Disney World. The people who run it are locals who go to the parks often, so it's always pretty updated. They're also on Instagram. It's a lot easier to be veg at WDW than you would think. :upsidedow

Not sure what menu you’re looking at but there are a ton of fish options. I recommend the lump crab and avocado! Clam strips were great as well. They’re known for their raw bar offerings but have many fish and shellfish dishes as well.

As far as vegetarian the pimento cheese, mixed greens, and cavatappi all sound excellent. I’m sure you could also get the Mac and cheese wntree without the meat. The truffle fries with lemon aioli are excellent as a side.

Not sure what you were expecting from a seafood and steak place...?
