Please let me know if this would work. To few Fantasmic, we were planning on driving our rental vehicle and parking at Boardwalk. We were going to walk to MGM, however I thought there may be a boat. Would that be quicker? After viewing Fantasmic we were planning on walking or boating back to Boardwalk to have dinner at Spoodles. The reason for driving was because we did not want to deal with bus transportation after the parks close.

Is parking at Boardwalk to enter a park frowned on? Should I be concerned about this taking a long time? Wouldn't want to be late for our PS at Spoodles or be late for Fantasmic going in.

Sorry about so many questions. Just trying to figure out if this would be a good way of doing this. Any advise or suggestion would be appreciated.

There is parking for non-resort guests in a lot just the other side of the road that runs around the resorts. If you are entering by Disney Studios, you turn right instead of left. This is self parking.

If you leave the Studios after Fantasmic, you may have a long wait for a boat, so walk back. It can easily be done in about 10-15 minutes. You would probably beat the first boat back anyway.

I would think you would be allowed to park in the Boardwalk parking lot seeing you have PS's at Spoodles. but they have been alot stricter lately.

If you are able to park there I would walk to MGM. If you face the main Port de chur....turn left and walk toward the far left building. There is a walkway near the parking lot. This will take you to the walk way to MGM by the lagoon. Turn left and stroll towards MGM. My guess is Fantasmic will start between 7:30 and 8:30 just be there at least 1.5 hrs prior to get a good seat.....
Then depending upon your Spoodles ressies you can walk or boat back. If your cutting it close and you are able to walk and there isn't a boat in site it is always faster to walk to the boardwalk restuarants...

If you are staying at one of the resorts on Disney property, then you can park all day at the boardwalk resort. Off-property resorts with PS can also park at Boardwalk for a few hours at a time (you are giving a parking pass.)
If you're a healthy adult, walking is almost certainly faster because the boat makes two stops between Boardwalk and MGM studios. That being said, after walking around the parks all of last week, by the end of the trip our feet were tired enough that we were taking the boats anyways. Hope you have fun!!!

That's not true. The CMs at the entrance kiosk often direct non-BW resort guests (even other on site guests) to the ungated lot across the street, especially in the mornings. Disney discourages guests who are going to the parks from parking at the resorts. FWIW, it's a bit of a hike to get to the Boardwalk from that lot across the street - which can be busy. You will need to be careful crossing it.
