Is there a height restriction on this one? I was hoping we could go on it, but I have a 3-yo (about 40 inches now) and a 1-yo.

Does anyone know for sure? I didn't think the UG said there was, but I thought I saw on a website somewhere that there was.

Thanks, Steph

There is no minimum height requirement for Maelstrom. In EPCOT, I belive, only Test Track and Mission Space have one.

Just wanted to add that there's no height restriction, but your kids might be frightened by this ride. A lot of it is in the dark and may be a little loud (I think there's a simulated thunderstorm at one point). My kids are not afraid of this (they're 11 and 13), but in August I rode it with my nephew (then 6) and niece (3) in mind, so I could report to mys sis whether or not she should ride it with them during her October trip. She rode it against my recommendation, and her kids were terrified. I realize that all kids are different and I don't mean to take the wind out of your sails, but I thought I'd give you a heads up. It's not a sweet little It's a Small World boat ride!

Thanks for the heads up about the noises, I hadn't thought about that part either. Hmmm....maybe we'll have to think on this one!

I took my infant DS on Maelstrom when he was 3 1/2 months old, then again when he was 13 months, and 16 months, and 23 1/2 months and this past January when he was 2 years and 3 months. He has never been scared of the boat ride at Norway. I dont think the thunderstorm is loud enough to be terrifying, but it is dark, and there is a small hill you go down. DS, along with my 2 DS ( who both first rode Maelstrom at ages 3 1/2 & 5, have never been frightened on this ride) I guess it all depends ont he child.

I took my 5yr old this last April for the 1st time and the troll and bear scared her. she refuses to go on again and would not say ok to go back to Epcot (her fave park until this) until I promised no Norway.
