Are there two boat options to Magic Kingdom, one from the Polynesian and one from the Ticket and Transportation Center?

If so, which is quicker?

We requested a room at Tahiti longhouse. Assuming we get that, which would be closer to the room? (On edit) - looked at one of Robo's outstanding maps and that answered my question - there are two boat options and the ferry at TTC is definitely closer to Tahiti.

Thanks in advance!

The big Ferry Boats will be just fine (although if you want to get to MK faster from TTC, pick the MK Express Monorail.)

The little shuttle boats are a lot more fun (if they are not too busy.)

The TTC ferry might be closer, but it is also much larger than the quaint little boat going from the Poly dock. So I think loading and unloading will take much longer than for the Poly-MK boat.

It's a pretty long walk from the TTC to the boat dock at the Poly. If you miss the boat, the boat makes a stop at the Grand Floridian and then to the MK. On it's way back, if there are any passengers on board, it goes back to the Grand Floridian and then to the Polynesian. The TTC boat is faster.

When I stayed at the Poly in 2009 the route was always: MK-GF-Poly-MK. So from the Poly to the MK it was a very short ride, on the way back the stop at the GF added some time. There was a boat about every 10 minutes. Of course things might have changed by now.

I would not recommend the Poly boat for someone who already is at the TTC, but if you are staying at the Poly somewhere between the TTC and the Poly boat dock, I think the time difference will mainly be sheer luck since it will depend on how long you have to wait for the next boat to arrive.

Correct.

I can see that if there were passengers who boarded at the Poly who asked the boat skipper if they could go directly to
the GF, the skipper might oblige them, but the normal route is a loop MK>GF>Poly>MK>GF...

.

my son, 18mos at the time, loved riding on the dock boat from GF to MK. If there isn't a lot of people, I think it would be faster. Or at least more fun!;)
