I was thinking about taking the boat from DHS to Epcot. We are in rush to get to EPCOT and I thought this would be something different. What all stops does the boat make?

DHS
Swan/Dolphin
Yacht Club/Beach Club
Boardwalk
Epcot - International Gateway

Probably close to 30 minutes. You could also walk.

I believe there is a bus to the front of Epcot

The boat does one stop for the Swan and Dolphin. Then is goes to the Yacht and Beach (you could get off here and walk by SAB to Epcot 5-7 minutes.) or continue on to the Boardwalk and then to Epcot. DHS to Epcot is around 30 minutes. If you missed the boat it will be a twenty minute wait so you might be better off going on the walking path.

If you are in a rush, I would suggest walking unless the boat happens to be at the dock when you arrive. Between waiting for the boat and the stops, walking is quicker. At least for my family.

While we do enjoy the boat or walk from DHS to Epcot, we've always found the bus between the 2 parks to be the quickest!

Depends where in the park you are. You know...in all my trips to WDW, I have never taken the bus between Epcot and DHS. Will have to give that a shot in August...purely in the interest of getting information.

But..if you're in World Showcase, then it may be much faster to take the boat, or walk. The boat ride, and only the boat ride itself, is about 25 mins long. But, you could very well have to add in some wait time if the boat isn't right there, boarding.
I will say that my friend and I were leaving the International Gateway and heading to DHS. We figured that since the boat was right there, we would hop on. Not so fast bucko!! They had just shut the doors...they very comically told us to wait, another boat would be along in 15 or so mins. No, we yelled...we were walking and we would beat them to DHS. Yeah, right they responded..no way. Well, we all left at the same time. They did beat us by about 90 seconds to Boardwalk. But the last we saw of them was as we headed through the Village Green and they were on the way to YC/BC. We walked along the canal, on the sidewalk, at a nice normal pace. The next time we saw them, they were rounding the bend and we were on our way to bag check at DHS!!!
So....walking is faster, unless you walk very slowly.

Walking is by far the fastest because it does not require any waiting. If you just miss the boat or a bus you could walk in the time it would take for one of them to show up. I love the boat (truly) but I could swim faster than it travels. It is positively glacial in speed. Still, we are generally not in a rush so the relaxing ride is quite pleasant after a long day. I love the Epcot resorts so the slow ride is perfect. If speed is your directive, hoof it.
