We have reservations the week after Christmas at the BW....they asked if we wanted the garden and pool view or overlooking the boardwalk. Need opinions from someone who has had a room overlooking the board :wizard: walk. Very noisy? What do you think?? thanks.

I would do Boardwalk. That's a premium view - and if I'm using the extra points, that's what I'd want! When the doors/windows are closed, I don't think there is much difference in noise . . . but I don't think I would be too sensitive to that. Maybe someone else out there thinks differently? (Oh, of course they do - this is DIS boards after all!)

we had a lobby level (2nd floor) boardwalk view - it had its upsides and downs. It was a little noisy from the games and restaurants. But the view of the boats coming and going and the people on the board walk were really fun and entertaining for all of us!

Here's a day & night view from our Boardwalk view room. You can also see the EPCOT fireworks from the balcony. If your in the right spot you can also see Magic Kingdom's fireworks.

I was thinking of booking a BW view for our reservations, then I read some reports that it is noisey, especially around 2:00 am when the clubs let out. We like quiet, so we probably wouldn't like it. I am sure during the day I would love it, but I wouldn't like the noise at night. I hadn't thought about that before reading on this board.

I'm a light sleeper, so it would bother me. The rest of my family would probably not notice a thing! So that is something to consider also (and I am sure the view is beautiful! I may break down and try it once if we weren't going to the parks early every day--this trip we are planning is going to be full force going to the parks all the time).

We were in 5041 and never heard a peep form people...boats, yes, but no big deal. You could save some points and get the pool/garden view, but I like the bw VIEW

We found it noticeably noisy, but not disruptive. Personally, I'm not sure that there are good rooms at the BW for no noise (the Standard View are probably best). The ones overlooking the pool have their own noise issues.

Thanks to all....it is so hard to decide. I know the view would be great, but I worry about not being able to sleep as I am slo a light sleeper. Appreciate all the info.

I've never had the BW view, but I think I'd opt for this. If you go for the "garden" view, be careful. We had that and our view was of the valet parking lot primarily. As long as you get a glimpse of water/grass, then BW considers that "garden". We could see part of the canal when we stood out on our balcony. We could see the TOT if we stood out on our balcony and turned to the right, but the majority of the view was the parking lot. It was quiet, but not much of a view for PV points. I'd request a pool view over a garden view if I was unable to get the BW view. We walked around the resort and we felt the rooms facing the main pool were nice but you might get some noise from that area as well ?

Our PV room was quiet (what BW considered "garden"), but it didn't have much of a view. If I get a view that is designated "garden", I don't expect to have full view of a parking lot so that caught me off guard, but if you're mentally prepared for that and don't mind it, this might be one of the quieter views for you. Good luck in your decision :flower:

We were in a room overlooking the central lawn area on the Boardwalk. If the balcony doors are closed the noise is definitely reduced. However, the horn from the boats arriving does still make it through. We got used to it after a while and even laughed when we did notice it. If you go to sleep early (?) then the activity on the Boardwalk may bother you. We enjoyed it because we had not stayed in the resort before but wouldn't want it for every trip.

We had a boardwalk view in May of this year, during the opening week of "The Happiest Celebration" and it was not noisy. As a matter of fact, I loved the music that they played on the Boardwalk and to hear it I had to open the door to the balcony. It was very quiet and one of my favorite places to people watch!!!

you can't save on pts with these 2 views, they are the same as BWview.

only the standard rooms are less pts

hi: we've had many different views at the boardwalk. since you are not getting a standard view and saving the points, I would opt for the boardwalk view. We had a 2br right over the store and it was fabulous. It was really nice looking out across the lake at the beach club. That being said, I've never had a view that has made me not thankful to be at "home". Some rooms are better than others in relation to the elevators, but the stairs are always good to use on the way down. Whatever view you get, make sure you have a wonderful time.

I would also pick the boardwalk view. It is an incredible view and we have never been bothered by noise once the balcony door is closed.
Just wanted to add that all BWVs are quite a distance from any parking lot. From the villas facing the front of the resort, you can see the parking lots in the distance. But there is a large grassy lawn, a pond with a fountain, landscaping and flowers the separates all villas from the parking lots.

Remember everyone's opinion will be different.
At Dvc Resorts experience them all yourself .
You will still get to like some resorts and views and not others.
Bw View we have enjoyed thoroughly recently but enjoyed for years a view of the Swan and Dolphin And the Tower of Terror.

We have had the BW view 4 times and only once did the noise bother us. It was the bell from the watergun game. I love having views of the fireworks from my balcony.

I'm thinking that part of the issue is you could get a BW room, have it be far from the water gun game and the boat dock, high enough up that you don't hear the people leaving, etc - and not notice the noise. But since that is a lot of requests and you have no guarentee where you end up, you could end up right in front of the boat dock, on a low floor, with the street theatre happening below your window. No way to really tell.

Or maybe you are used to living on ten acres where the crickets keep you awake - BW might seem noisy where its going to be darn quiet for someone who lives in Manhattan.

Or maybe you go to bed at 9:00 - right as Illuminations starts - its a noisy resort while fireworks are happening. On the other hand, if you are closing Pleasure Island, the BW will be closed when you pull in at night, and mornings are generally pretty quiet.
