I apologoze if this is the wrong forum, but I'm considering a stay at boardwalk and I don't plan to rent a car, is there adequate transportation to the parks? Is it an additional charge? Is there transportation to other parks like universial?

Hi! There is adequate transportation, especially to MGM and Epcot 'cuz you can walk to either easily. The Friendship boats can also take you there (leave about every 10-20 minutes from the dock at the Boardwalk), but we walked to both Epcot and MGM and beat the boats both times (fairly close with the MGM one, but we're young and walk fast. ).

From Epcot you can hop the monorail to the Magic Kingdom, but as usual there are free buses to anywhere on the Disney property you would want to go.

We just did this in January-stayed at BWV and didn't rent a car. We went to all 4 theme parks and also to DTD, and never wished we'd rented a car.

I believe you need to go through Mears (charge) to get to Universal. Disney does NOT provide transportaion to their main competitor in Orlando.
