Boardwalk Villas

We are staying at the Boardwalk Studio Villas for the first time. Any suggestions as to what location requests we should make? We have never stayed at an Epcot resort before. Looking forward to the F&WF in October.

If it is a DVC reservation, then you had to book a view category, standard, pool/garden, or boardwalk view, and which one you have can make a large difference for requests to make, so we need to know which you have. If you booked through Disney central reservations you have run of the house which will most likley be the pool/garden view which is 60% of all rooms and requests you can make are limited and high floor would be one to consider and, if allowed, you may want to add a Village Green location request which is the central courtyard on the boardwalk side of the resort.

Our reservation says pool/garden view. We booked through a DVC member.

The options for the pool/garden view are view of Luna Park (main) pool, the quiet pool, the Village Green, and the Activity Lawn.

High floor is likely the main request unless you have a particualr reason for wanting a ground floor. For location, (and any requests should be made through Member Services via the meber from whom you are renting):

Villege Green area: ideal as long as you get floor 3 or above rather than 2, in that you overlook the lawn area behind the lobby and have partial view of boardwalk and lake and can see upper Fireworks from Epcot. It is an active area in that many walk through and thus if you want to avoid any noise you may want elsewhere, but otherwise it is ideal for a studio.The problem with second floor rooms (no first floor rooms there) is that they are under the overhang that is above the Wyland Galleries and your view is blocked.

Luna Park view: generally a good view of the main pool area if high floor and most rooms are not overly far from elevator and lobby.

Quiet Pool: if you want the quitest area at BWV, this is it. You overlook the Quiet Pool that usually has a limited number of occupants. The Community Hall is also in the area. Walk to lobby can be long, but if you want to walk to Studios, you can have shortest walk from BWV (but still .7 mile) down a stairs and out the back door.

Activity Lawn: nice view of channel leading to Studios and you see Swan/Dolphin, noise is generally limited to boat horns, walk to lobby and elevator can be long, and there is, in fact, no activity on the Activity Lawn that you overlook.

Note if you request close to elevator as suggested above, you would get either a Village Green or a Luna Park view

We prefer the Village Green area because it affords a BoardWalk view/experience. At night, the sights and sounds are reminiscent of Seaside Heights and Ocean City, NJ.

If you have a stroller with you, I'd suggest first floor as there is only 1 elevator in the building. We did that way back in our stroller days and it was a lot quicker to get going than getting to the 1 elevator. All views have been fine with us--quiet pool, Luna pool, activity lawn. We love BWV for it's location between Hollywood studios and Epcot, and the kids love the Community Hall by the quiet pool. As far as transportation--it's easiest to just walk to Epcot and Hollywood studios, although there is a boat you can get, it does stop at other resorts as well. The bus transportation to Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom is over on the Boardwalk Inn side, so no real close rooms to that.

Ah.....Good old "Childwood" as we always call it. I live halfway between Philly and AC and my daughter plays in the beach blast tournament in Wildwood every year. You will like Boardwalk as it does have a bit of that shore feeling to it, but no, it's not Jersey shore. Look for the mini version of Lucy the Elephant they have there. I won't spoil it....you have to find it on your own.

As a child of 2 shores.....Jersey and Cape cod (my grandparents lived up there) I'm very much a fan of Beach Club as it has more of a New England theme to it over the boardwalk.

We like high floor overlooking the quiet pool and Disney Studios. Have a wonderful time! We will be there in October!

Either the Village Green area or close to elevator in the Luna Park pool area would give you a room that is as close as you can usually be at BWV to transportation (boat dock on boardwalk for Epcot and Studios, and bus station on the BWI side for everything else). As to going to F&W, you can walk to Epcot in under 8 minutes.
