We just booked a 1 bedroom standard view villa at Boardwalk Villas for Dec 18-24. Great point value! Does anyone have tips on what to request ? Any quiet/decent rooms there? Thanks!

If your group can handle stairs, ask for an upper floor across from the bus stop. You may be lucky and get a view of the EPCOT fireworks from your balcony. (Some views are blocked by trees) In addition to being close to a pathway to the bus stop, it's close to the walkway to DHS. There is quite a bit of landscaping between the villas and the blacktopped driveway and parking lots.

Since noise comes mostly from other guests running or talking loudly in the hallways, the farther you are from the elevators, the quieter the room. :) If you get a lock off villa, you could get stuck with noisy neighbors, but that can happen at any resort. The SV rooms closest to the elevators may be bothered by luggage handling & the beeping of the trucks backing up.

We had a room with a great view of fire works. It was so good my DH and I could lay in bed and watch them, or we sat on the balcony some nights. It was a nice surprise for us because we didn't expect it. My sister had the room next to ours, and had a tree blocking her view. We were on the 3rd floor down quite a way from the elevator. I'm not sure what room number.

I looked up our receipt. Our room was 3103

Make sure your room in no where near the airline baggage check in counter which is located in the front of Boardwalk on the left side. It can be quite loud in the early morning.

2123, 3123, 4123 - extra large 1 bedroom with huge balcony.

We were lucky enough to get these rooms twice. I was shocked the first time....even checked with the front desk to make sure we were not being charged for a preferred room. But once the "secret" was out, never got them again when I requested them. Only drawback is the tiny shower stall.

I think if you e-mail member services and request FAR from elevator, you can avoid this area. Not fun.

There seems to be only a small block of rooms that face Epcot that are not blocked by trees any more.....but I notice the trees seem to be taking over more. I guess one can't complain, as it IS parking lot view. But I sure do wish they would do some tree removal.

I also would not want a ground level. Too many critters.

Same with me. I got 3123 with my usual "top floor, across from the bus stop" request. I requested it again and we ended up down next to Jellyrolls, at the time it was standard view (when the DVC office was there instead of the open lawn).

Glad to run across this thread :) I am somewhat in the same boat except looking for 2BR lockoff recommendations. I tried looking at room placements and photos online and have a small list of rooms that seem like they'd be ok: 5083, 4083 (farther from entrance but not too far from elevators) 2127 (only 1 flight of stairs, pond view). Is there a photo thread with more pics of the balcony views of the rooms?

I agree with the high floor recommendation. The lower levels get ME bus and airport transfer truck noise as well as animals. Some are actually a bit below the lawn so it looks like a basement apt. If you have kids though, they might like the lawn access??

Thanks for the responses. We are taking boys ages 4 & 11 and chances are we will be exhausted from all the parks. So wanted to get some zzz and not get a lot of car noise.

Thanks for the upper floor suggestion ;)
We can walk fine - we are used to long hallways from the Dolphin resort across the lake from the BWV.

Do you think the last room in the BWV to the BW lobby is the same length as as the walk from one end of a hall way in the Dolphin to to the other end of the hallway ?
It takes about 5 minutes to walk the full length of a Dolphin hallway.

Just got here and put a request in for those numbers.............unfortunately I did not get one. On the bright side, we are in Disney at the best location of any other resort!

In general at BW upper floors and far from the elevator tend to have the best views and least noise (though Jellyrolls on the BW side can get loud - there really isn't a good "low noise" side on the Boardwalk when you get a loud wedding party on a Friday night). However, it is FIVE flights of stairs from the bottom to the top. So the whole "take the stairs" thing isn't for the faint of heart. After a long day, four year old legs don't want to do stairs, teenagers get cranky, and middle age and older knees make sounds that are disturbing. Close to the elevator and a low floor is convenient - nothing like kids who want to be in the pool all day when its right down the hall, no stairs - however, those rooms have the highest risk of being noisy or having poor views (trees block a lot on the standard view side anyway now, so the view is less of a deal there). A compromise not often recommended, go for a middle floor, middle of the resort. If you need to take the elevators, the hallway will be half as long. The stairs will be half as many, the hallway traffic half as much - and you'll be past the ME loading/unloading area.

Deb...you are too funny but so true....those x123 rooms are a DVC secret....no requests...you'll never get them without some Mgt intervention. We have been blessed 3 times in 17 years. LOL

We always ask for upper floor away from elevator and I will huff it up the stairs. Great view of fireworks and nice and quiet. So few points and so great a value....who cares your at Disney.

Stay far away from the Bell Hop area....far far away....that's my advice.

Glad I found this thread; thank you for all the suggestions. MyDD and I will be staying there for the first time in January. :yo-yo:

I agree. We have requested one of those rooms everytime. We stay at BWV 2-3 trips a year, for the last 10 years and have NEVER gotten it. I keep asking though. Maybe one day. I like to be near the canal and always request that since we have a car and it puts us closer to the parking lot. I've never gotten that request either. I have to say that at BWV, I rarely get any requests. I would say I'm about 20% or less getting a request there. Yet I'm headed there next weekend, along with 4 nights in September and 2 week in Oct/Nov. Still my favorite despite rarely getting any request filled.

As far as the walk from elevator to a room at the end of the BWV standard views, it takes about 90 to 110 seconds and seems longer because of narrow hallways (I have timed it at casual pace). In comparison, the time needed to walk from lobby to an end room at Kidani's north wing is about 4X what it is at BWV, i.e., get an end room at Kidani and you will never complain again about a long walk at BWV. High Floor across from bus stop is a good request. Anything near elevators (like 5083 mentioned above) has risk of loud noise outside at times although high floor with doors closed helps prevent that. The corner 1BRs mentioned above, 2123, 3123 and 4123, are by far the best 1BRs at BWV (standard or otherwise) for internal space and windows but high risk of not getting a specific room request. Also, the rooms around the corner, farthest from lobby, have decent views overlooking tennis courts or mostly grass with view toward Studios.
