I just booked a family trip to Disney...HOORAY!!! Nov. 29-Dec. 3

We are staying at the Boardwalk Villas (1 bedroom)...first time staying there. I am usually more of a moderate resort gal...but I have been dying to stay there!!

Any tips on the best building to be in...???

General advice on the resort itself....

I will be traveling with 2 small children (ages 2 and 4).

Thanks for any help/advice you can give !!

Depends on if you want to look onto pool/garden vs Boardwalk. We looked onto the pool and our boys loved it. We were quite far from the elevator but close to the stair well so easy to get down to the pool. If your 2 year old tends to use stroller, you may want to be closer to elevators. Regardless, you will want to be near the main pool/playground with that age. Have a great time!!!!

There's only one building. The Villas are on the other side from Boardwalk Inn.

What view did you reserve? Boardwalk has three booking categories - Standard (overlook the driveway), preferred pool or garden view or preferred guaranteed boardwalk view. Standard view are less points & the preferred points are the same for the pool/garden and boardwalk. If you booked through CRO, then you'll get the garden/pool view.

You may want to request close to elevators since there is only one block of them and the walk down the hallways can be fairly long.

There's only 1 building, so that's easy. There are also 3 views, and each is booked as it's own category. Boardwalk is a view of the boardwalk & lake, preferred is a view of pool/garden/canal and standard is a view of the front entrance, parking lot & bus stop area. So, unless you booked boardwalk view, you're not going to get it, even if you ask.

I have to ask if you are a sound sleeper or not. The first time we stayed there we were very close to the elevators and the make lots of noise. They kept me up every night. I learned my lesson. I always request staying as far away from the elevators as possible. I have never had a problem since.:thumbsup2

Did you reserve using DVC points or through DRC with cash? If you reserved with points, you'll get what you reserved - standard view (the front drive of the resort), BW view (BW view) or preferred garden/water view(Luna Park, leisure pool). If you reserved on cash through DRC, you'll get the preferred garden/water view.

This is a great resort! The pool area is a lot of fun and very compact so you can easily supervise children. You can borrow life vests for the kids at the quiet pool. We find it very convenienent to order groceries to stock up on drinks, snacks, breakfast/lunch for the room. It is kind of a pain to find a quick bite at the Boardwalk. We do like to pop in the bakery in the afternoon when it is typically quiet and grab some goodies for breakfast. We order groceries from here and have had great service:

Definately make time to check out the street performers on the Boardwalk in the early evening....they are incredibly talented and your kids will be vastly entertained! Also, there is a campfire/movie at the Beach Club Beach that is also great fun (you don't have to be a guest of BC to check out the campfire)....you can also buy a s'mores kit.

Just wanted to add that the walk to Epcot is quick and convenient, but the walk to DHS is also great! It is a great time to let the kids run around out of the stroller, safely (no crowds!), and burn off some energy on the way. There are also lots of critters to see, like lizards, bunnies, fish, turtles, ducks, water fowl, etc...takes about 20 min. I think it is also faster than the boat!!

The staff and Bell Services here are very friendly and helpful....often there are balloons for the kids in the lobby in the am.

Happy planning!
