Boardwalk Villa's Pool/Garden View or Boardwalk View?

I have our vacation plans set for 9 days at the Boardwalk Villa's, one bedroom pool/garden view. At the time I made the reservations I didn't realize the Boardwalk view was the same points-wise. I could switch my room to boardwalk view now but would have to waitlist two nights. Our trip is at the end of April. Would having a garden/pool view be just as nice? I'm torn. If the wait list didn't come thru we would have to have a split stay. Is is worth the gamble?

I am not a DVC member so I can't speak to points and such, however my family does not like to split stays so that would be a gamble. Also I would think a garden view would be nice and quiet/peaceful and also you would have a little more privacy. I like to have coffee in my PJs in the morning on the balcony

Yes, having a garden/pool view is just as nice! We stayed in a 1-bedroom standard view (booked through WDW) and ended up with a view of the quiet pool and a bit of the Swan. It was lovely! Very quiet. I actually wouldn't want to be right on the Boardwalk - it seems it would be quite loud at times. Also, I wouldn't risk the waitlist, split stay situation. It just wouldn't be worth it to me to have my vacation up in the air like that or possibly have to switch rooms, check-in twice, etc. What you have booked is great! We LOVE BWV and you really can't go wrong with the view you have booked!

Thank you sooo much for your replies. It would be a hassel moving if the wait list doesn't come thru. Plus I like the idea of the blacony being more private. I'm glad to hear you both feel the garden/pool view will be just as nice!!

I'm the opposite. I would do the switch. Bordwalk view has never been available when we've gone and I'd LOVE it. Switching rooms is easy- we always do split stays. This way you can try the both of them!

We've stayed in a studio with a garden/pool view and we got a room overlooking the green which also happened to be a partial view of the BW and a great view of the Yacht and Beach club as well.

I've been quite happy with all my views at BWV..well except for the one bedroom that was supposed to be preferred, but had a tree smack dab in front of the one balcony we had.....we could see nothing, and that's hard to do with the S/D right in front of you! When we complained, the front desk said that a lot of DVC people complain about that particular room. We got moved. But other than that, all have been fine.
I usually try for a standard view...great use of points. I like the boardwalk view but I don't need to have it all the time. I have one booked for this week only because my dd is coming with me, and it's kind of a special trip.
So, would I chance the waitlist? Probably not. I do split stays all the time, but I really hate moving from room to room within the same resort.

In 2014, we had a 1-bed villa on the 2nd floor overlooking the quiet pool. At night we could see the Fantasmic fireworks at DHS from our balcony, which was very cool, but it was still pretty quiet and a very short walk to both the lobby and a staircase that went outside to the walkway to DHS. We thought it was a great view/location and would definitely book it again! I've never done a Boardwalk view, but I've heard those rooms can get a lot of noise off the Boardwalk at night. I probably wouldn't want the hassle of the wait list, but that's just me. I think there may be 1 or 2 1-beds that have a Village Green view but are still technically pool/garden views, so maybe if you put in a request for that you might luck out and get the best of both worlds. Good luck!

The Boardwalk view is amazing, especially at a night. As for noise complaints, it’s never bothered us and we don’t even notice it when the balcony doors are closed.

I would switch hands down. The view of the Epcot Ball was amazing. The boardwalk wasn't loud (but it was a kid free trip for us, in Jan, so maybe we didn't notice cause it was slower, or because we didn't have kids to settle down) My husband begs to stay there again, and he doesn't even *Gasp* love Disney...

If I stay at the Boardwalk, I want to be on the Boardwalk. For me, the boardwalk is the the whole point any why I choose Boardwalk over all the other Epcot resorts in the first place. I purposely crack the door when I go to bed at night just so I can hear the atmosphere around me (otherwise I can't). I want to sit on my balcony and watch the early morning joggers; the boats coming and going on the lake during the day; and the Epcot ball, fireworks, entertainers and nighttime bustle in the evening. When I leave for a park in the day, I purposely keep my curtains open so I can come back in the evening to the Epcot ball "nightlight" shining through as I open the door. Personally, I feel I can get garden view anywhere.

Thank you all for the replies. We have the garden view room now, since I waited (a day) and the boardwalk view room was taken. It is a pain to change rooms, so for that reason, I'm fine with it. :)
