Hi-
My husband and i are getting ready to check into Boardwalk Villas for the end of February in a studio. I have been told to request - High, odd numbered room that is close to the elevator. Anything else or a better choice? Thanks for the help.

I guess it depends on what you're looking for. I've never worried about odd or even numbered villas. With villas, you book a view type.....most likely a garden/pool view in your case. I usually choose one thing that is important to me....level is usually my request. As far as the nearness to the elevators......it's pretty much the luck of the draw. You could get a villa that is very close to the elevators, or one that is a bit further away.

Is your reservation through CRO or DVC? If DVC, which view did you reserve (standard, pool/garden, boardwalk)?

Debbie,
We have pool/garden view.

I would request top floor, close to elevator. I had a pool view studio last month on the 5th floor, about 4 doors from the elevators. Room 5060.

We have a boardwalk view villa set for next month. We requested either 3rd or 4th floor next to the stairs. Being by the stairs is so nice. You walk right down and are at the pool. Walk right by the arcade and you are already by the boat docks. Plus, the walkway over to the Swolphin is right there as well.

I know of at least 2 stairs on the boardwalk side, one comes out by the art store and one comes out behind Jellyrolls. There's probably another one in between for fire exits.

we have a studio with BW view booked for April...is 3rd 4th floor best?

I always request top floor and usually end up with 3 or 4. The only time I had a noise problem was on the 2nd floor. The thing I want to avoid the most are the 2 or 3 rooms on the first floor right on the boardwalk.

are there studios on the 5th floor? or is 3rd 4th better for location?

Yes, see this diagram posted by Shamus:

SL is Studio Lockoff (can be part of a 2 bedroom), SD is Studio Dedicated (no connecting door). The locations for studios are identical for the 3rd, 4th & 5th floors.

I think the previous poster suggested 3rd or 4th because they wanted to use the stairs.

Yes, we wanted to be by the stairs. Last time we were on the 2nd floor right above the Brewery. I didn't think it was that loud, but the wife did. So I figured 3rd or 4th floor by the stairs would be nice.

As for which stairs, you walk out and are almost right by the pool. The stairs were right outside of our room last time and like i mentioned, we were above the Brewery.

We just got back from BWV and had an amazing room location. I had requested high floor, close to lobby and elevator and was given room 4050. It was great. Had an amazing view of the pool and tower of terror in the back ground. I could not have been more happier with the location!

We just got back from BWV, and were in room 1001. The stairwell behind Jellyrolls was right outside our door. It was the last room on the hallway, and was a boardwalk view. We had a perfectly framed view of Illuminations from our room. The view might have been better on a higher floor, but, I can't complain.
If doing laundry in your room is important to you, room 1001 has a brand new washer and dryer, which was delivered on Dec 24, so, I guess I sort of got a new washer and dryer for Christmas, even though I didn't get to take it home.

We usually stay at Kidani, and the hallway at BWV is shorter than that at Kidani, but, still long enough that we didn't go to the lobby very much. I like the parking at Kidani better, and also how many electric outlets are available. BWV doesn't have outlets that are as convenient for charging phones, IPads, computers. Specifically, there were none convenient to the table where I could sit and work on the computer, which I needed to bring for some work related projects.

Thank you all!! I just did the online registering and you are only allowed to choose two things. We choose - high and near the elevator.
I was also asked which was more important - room being ready for early check-in, or having the placement requests for your room and maybe it not being ready. I choose where I want to stay even if our room might not be ready.
